Luv4oneanotha, I'm tired of hearing how rotten his childhood was.

When does Michael Jackson take responsibility for his adulthood?

John Wayne Gacy was a respected businessman and while the list of charities he contributed to or was involved with is probably not as long as MJ's, it was likely substantial.
My point is, being involved with a bunch of charitable organizations, whether it's with your time or your money, does not make you a saint.
And no, I'm not comparing MJ to a child killer. I'm just saying a list of charities shouldn't be the sole judge of a person's character. It can be deceiving.

John Wayne Gacy was also a clown who entertained at many children's parties:

He's an entertainer AND he gave to charity. Whatta saint, Luv4oneanotha! The fact that Jesus was not about merely giving money away must mean nothing to you.

It really is a shame. I was just watching Michael and Q. on THE WIZ dvd this morning and thinking -"how did Micheal get to the horrible state that he's in currently??? Who fucked him up in his head so badly that we lost this brilliant young performer that I'm seeing on screen now??"

I mean, you sit and you watch Michael singing "You Can't Win" from this film and try to juxtapose it with current images of him and it's like something from the Twighlight Zone, just incredibly freakish and beyond tragic...on top of mutilating himself he keeps placing himself in questionable situations with young boys and it all feels so wrong- wrong to the point where I've actually wondered if there was a singular trauma in his childhood that triggered all of this...his whole state of BEING is just so beyond freakish, I look at footage from his younger years and I'm completely stymied, and I just think "baby, what happened? who did THIS to you????".

Somehow I have a feeling as if he just really didn't get to THIS all by himself if you know what I mean...

Fame is a bitch. Imagine not being able to go anywhere or do anything from age... what was it 7? 9?

Nooo Thanks. It would probably screw my head up too.

I know what you mean, but that wasn't what I was talking about; I actually have wondered if Michael was sexually abused as a child. Not by an immediate family member, but maybe by some distant relative or family "friend" when he was a young child. I've done volunteer work with abused children, and when I look at Michael Jackson, I eventually get to a point where
his " I'm a freak-because-I-had-no-childhood" defense does not wash with me AT ALL. For some reason I look at him and feel like some person did something very dark and ugly to him when he was a small child and the end result has been this THING he's become now...
It's tragic...

Found this in another forum:

March 31, 2004 -- QUINCY Jones was psyched to line up Norah Jones, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Sting and Stevie Wonder for his "We Are the Future" concert in Rome on May 16, but there's one artist who Jones does not want. "Michael Jackson desperately wants to be a part of this concert," says an industry insider. "He has contacted Quincy, but Quincy turned him down. Michael wants to do the concert because it would help his image right now, but because of the molestation charges, Quincy isn't interested." Jackson is particularly hurt about not appearing in the show, because Jones, who helped Jacko launch his solo act, got him involved in "We Are the World" over 10 years ago. "It is a bit of a scandal," said the source, who added Jones is in talks with several networks to broadcast the show in the U.S. The concert will be seen across the world, even in the Mideast. It will feature 2,000 children between the ages of 5 and 8 - another reason to keep Jackson away. Reps for Jackson and Jones didn't return calls.

That's Rome, Italy? Hello...Jacko's passport was confiscated when he was arrested and I can't see the authorities returning it to him so he can do this show. He can't leave the U.S. even if Quincy wants him to appear in Rome!! rolleyes

Absolutely! I'm tired of these Jackson maniacs trying to find excuses for each one of his crazy traits. I think MJ was an incredibly talented performer and an icon. That doesn't make him comparable to Jesus and (despite the fact that I am not religious) I find that comparison really offensive.
