That is so great to hear! Janet is such a strong, positive influence on women and people everywhere, and it's great to see her recognized in a positive light after all of this drama.

Yeah, she's a really "strong, positive influence on women ... everywhere" - whenever they want something all they've got to do is flash their tits. One more victory for women's rights. The suffragettes would be proud of our Janet.

How the fuck is that one incident going to discredit all of the positive influence she's had on her fans everywhere? I already said this, but the impact she's made on her fans is a FACT. It doesn't matter what the hell you think.

I'm not going to sit here and say that Prince hasn't influenced anyone because of some things he's done, or that Madonna isn't because of some stunts she's pulled. Everyone just wants to hate on Janet, but guess what... Janet doesn't need you!

Yeah, well, if someone you loved was deemed "Hero of the Month", the concept wouldn't be so ridiculous.

Strong positive influence on women? No. While I agree that this whole thing was blown up beyond belief, the fact that she was willing to let a man rip her an article of her clothing off at the place where children were present, is fucked up.

I kinda agree, if janet pulled the same shit at the mtv awards then it would be a different story but doing it at this game thing was too much. But, saying that Nelly took of one of his dancer's skirt of in his performance and ok you didnt see flesh but its the same thing (ie you could say its insensitive, its degrading, blah blah) but nothing was said, in general i think performances should be tamed down for kids. But really, Im sure seeing a breast for a split second on tv wont seriousley damage anyone

Hero of the month is the silliest concept i've ever heard lol(Im in the uk so its the first time i heard of it) i mean yeah shes done some cool stuff for charities and i have a lot of admiration for that but in reference to her and sex i dont think shes done anything spectacular. Pushing the envelope ? Not really Madonnas did all that back in the 90's and even prince did it. Shes not the first person to talk or sing openly about sex (i.e madonna), shes not the first to strip on stage (um Madonna). Im not saying janet didnt do anything but these little awards or titles that shows give are just a farce, just like the whole MTV icon thing. Its not even about hating on janet because im a big fan its just being realistic and its so irratating when ppl are overhyped.

Marvin Gaye was probably the first to sing graphically about sex. "I wanna love you all over. I wanna give you some head." from "Soon I'll Be Loving You Again" on I Want You. As a matter of fact, the whole I Want You album.

Did so - less explicity - on "Let's Get It On" too. Hear "You Sure Love To Ball".
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

An Amazon review of Damita Joe confuse
1 star Hot garbage, April 3, 2004
Reviewer: A music fan from Southern California USA
Looked at a lot of these 5-star reviews...they must be employees of the record company. This CD is forgettable. Perhaps it will grow on me, perhaps Janet will make some bangin' videos to some of the singles, because after all, she is an 'entertainer' (her strentgh) vs. a 'singer' (her weakness)...

Truth be told, we expect more from this Jackson. If it was LaToya or Tito we would just shrug our shoulders and just say 'oh well, t'was to be expected', but from Janet, and from a CD this hyped before the release...

What has happened to music these days is not the fault of Napster and downloading MP3's. The quality of the music is just not there anymore. It's not just Janet. But this CD is a good example of sizzle pop with no substance
