Excellent!

She was on a spin off of Bewitched where she played the grown up "Tabitha" (the name of the show). It lasted like half a season and she sang the half of the theme song. Quite catchy. What does that album sound like?

A couple of old school Reggae 7"'s. One of them is Bob Marley's "Lively Up Yourself".

I think you can actually check out a track here. http://www.lisahartman-black.com/

I totally remember Tabitha - one of my lost favorites! She was also on Knots Landing for a time and played two characters who each had singing careers. As her first character on the show, she did a Rick Springfield number called "Hole in my Heart" that appears on this record. I think they even used this record as a prop in the character's story line...

I found an import of Olivia Newton John's TOTALLY HOT album on CD, which I've never been able to find anywhere else. It's not only my most obscure CD, but my guiltiest pleasure. Would a little more love make it right?

Was that the re-mastered version on the Festival label? I love that album, Please Don't Keep Me Waiting is a masterpiece. I especially love the way she wails at the end.

Have you heard her Gaia CD from the early 90's? I found it AMAZING. It was a real eye opener for me and is easily one of my favorite cds of all time.

OMG, I have that album. I also have the one before it and the one she did after her stint on Knots Landing. I absolutely love her voice.

Hmm, odd enough, mine doesn't have the title as "Letterock" though... and the back shot is on the front - must be a re-released version.

UptownDeb

Cloud One's ""Atmosphere Strut." Actually, I'm not sure it's all THAT obsure, but it took me years to find the CD.

Also MCJX's "Black in Time." I went to elementary (junior high?) with this guy. I have NO idea if this 1990 CD sold any copies. (I wonder if it's listed at allmusic.com? Apparently, I own it, but I didn't buy it. confused (It must've been given to my sister.) Anyway, I don't know if the brother even had/has rappin' skills. Never listened to it.

It was - it was rereleased after her first stint on Knots Landing as simply Lisa Hartman. I guess the exposure on the show warranted another try...

I found a link to the original theme to "Tabatha"!

Y'know, she actually does sing pretty well. She had a duet out with her husband a couple years ago that was ok. It was kinda sweet.

Badly Drawn Boy's EP1. Only 500 copies pressed on 7" vinyl.

Oh you bastard! I've got EP2 but it cost me £20.

My rarest, most obscure records are both quite literaly limited editions of 1.

See, I used to work in a record shop in Brighouse, and the guy I worked for, Danny, was in a band and he played me a demo and I was really impressed. I ended up helping out at all their early gigs, going around selling demos and getting people to sing up to the mailing list. The name of the band? Embrace - their debut album knocked Simply Red off the top of the UK album chart.

I have 2 exclusive cassettes.

The first is a compilation tape Danny did me of The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, etc. On the end of the tape is a little untitled jam by the band (who were nameless at the time).

The second is the demo tape. It has the 3 songs on it that were on all of them (I think there were 200 all together) but there's quite a few extras.

Inside the sleeve, it says:-

"Just for you don't lend it out! a collection of practise recordings from recent writing sessions notice lack of lyrics in the songs. RECORDED ON 4 TRACK."

It's got

Side A:-
"Sooner Than You Think"
"Say It With Bombs"
"Overflowing" - these 3 are the normal demo tracks
"Girl World Leader"
"Damaging"
"Not Eating"
"One More Throw"
"Joyrider (Unfinished idea from Damaging sessions)"

Side B:-
"Sooner Than You Think"
"From The Inside"

It's weird because as a Prince fan, I'd hope that anyone with a tape of unreleased Prince stuff would share it, but I've never copied this tape for anyone because I said I wouldn't when I was given it. I lost touch with them all long ago, but I still wouldn't sell it or copy it. Just the way I am. In fact, I'd never admit to even owning this tape on an Embrace forum, so please don't link to this if you do post on one!

Not necessarily the most obscure, but the rarest I have.

I'm kind of embarrassed to own this, since I hate the original song so much. But the remixes are great. Brazilian promo, only 500 pressed.

You just reminded me of something I have.
PAUL WELLER - A tape of some demos he did for his first album. A friend of a friend in the South of England worked as a recording engineer on Weller's first solo album. We got chatting about Weller one night and I impressed him so much with my trainspotter knowledge of Weller that he did me a copy direct from DAT. He also gave me his private address, although I never did anything silly like write to him or stand outside his house as I grew out of that kind of thing years ago. Anyway, I have never copied this tape for anybody else and it remains my selfish little rarity.
