Jessica Simpson is like the talented Britney Spears

Jessica Simpson might not be the brightest woman i've come 2 know, but out of all the tiny sugar coded pop acts i think Jessica Simpson has talent. She really can sing, plus I have respect for her cuz she's not doing the whole slutty thing like Britney Spears and Christina Auguelira. It's not 2 see somebody dressed for a change, plus her husband Nick Lachey is fine. Give it up 4 Jessica Simpson dancing jig,

i have to say that i also respect jessica simpson for having actual values and not paying lip service to the whole "virgin on my wedding day" idea like britney. it takes a lot to be in the public eye and hold on to something that you truly believe in, especially when it's not all that popular with the public at large.

still, jessica could benefit from an education and a course on housecleaning.

She could also benefit from vocal coaching, unless you consider that wavering, tremulous thing she has a voice. She has the power, sure, but she needs to learn how to control it. And how to emote properly ("Take My Breath Away").

Jessica is a girl next door when it suits her purposes. She still sluts it up in Maxim when she needs to. She's always been sold on sex appeal.

I'm confused. How much sluttiness is supposed to be a negative thing?

Oh come on - the video has her laying on the floor in a pushup bra under a t-shirt my 1-year-old couldn't fit into, writhing around underwear, implied to be hers.

What part of that is wholesome?

Just because she's not handing out boobie shots like Britney and Christina in no way puts her above them. She a ho. A supafine ho at that, but a ho nonetheless.

at least it's not a glittery body sock or assless chaps.

in that video she is fully dressed and the scene that you speak off is a take off on her reality show where, instead of putting her dirty clothes in a hamper she throws them into the main hall of her house. at least she wears underwear. i'm still not seeing where she's being slutty. a dirty pig? yes. she a grown woman and should clean up after herself but slutty? hell no. she has a large chest but compared to the over the top sexual displays of chirstina and britney, jessica simpson is merely enhancing her best assets. is she even wearing a push up bra?

jessica simpson is not a ho, she's an idiot who should have finished school before she became famous.

sad good lord. like that move didn't already look silly enough when madonna & co. did it with those gaultier bras during the vogue era. first it was the "lifting" of all that janet choreography from the control era, and now all this madonna-esque sh*!. is this kid ever going to come up with something original or at least try to fuse her influences to come up with something fresh?

i don't quite understand why, but lately, everytime i see this girl on tv i get the willies! the sight of her and the sound of her voice irritates me to no end! i do so wish she would crawl into a hole and just stop releasing records already! sounds crazy i'm sure, but i don't give a hoot.

...ooh.. and wouldn't it be something if they started using brittany's music as a torture device? just blast that strumpet 24-7 in criminals' ears during investigations until they give authorities the information they're searching for...could work, if ya ask me...

And we owe most of that Control choreography to Paula Abdul.

i know, luv. at the end of the day you can always attribute the choreography to someone behind the scenes, but you know what i mean, don'tcha!?

i think my interest in spears started going downhill with that song/video "stronger", you know, the one with the chair moves snatched from "pleasure principle". after that, old girl was so over for me, and even though i'm an old chick i like listening to some of the younger folks music here and there! but oddly enough i just can't stand listening to her---EEEEW! i could take jess simpson spears any day(i know she's your favorite, lol!)

The chair moves were snatched from Bob Fosse, Liza Minelli in Cabaret, I think it was. Janet was doing a tribute to it in her video, so, don't be a complete dumbass here. if JANET can pay homage to someone, then so can Britney.

Not one of these tit-wigglers are any better than the others. Paula sure as hell can't sing, Janet is talented but certainly owes a LOT to artists before her (Madonna, Michael, Prince, etc), Madonna was ripping off Cyndi Lauper with all the lace and earrings and shit, and Britney sure as hell ain't original, but Toxic is a damn good song, and hey, that body stocking makes a grown man squint.

um, you're a little offbase with the "dumbass" comment.

i wouldn't be surprised if i've been involved in the dance community for as long as you've been involved in music. depending on your age, maybe longer...

you see otan, i studied dance for years and gave up the idea of dancing proessionally after a string of injuries in my late teens. from the age of six i have studied everything ranging from graham technique to, guess what? FOSSE. as a young girl i was nurtured creatively by the footpath dance company and karamu institition whose instructors and students are reknown in the world of dance, from the stages of broadway to the babylon of hollywood and BEYOND, and i have by the way, had the extraordinary opportunity to be share time with one ms. anne reinking, who as you know, is the creative heir for carrying on the fosse legacy in the world of dance, having been his protegé on the broadway stage. although i am not actively performing anymore at the age of 30-something (cough cough), in my spare time i am still active in preserving the legacy all forms of dance via study, occasional instruction, and fundraising on a SIX-figure level from the east coast of the united states to the small villages of island nations- so i daresay that if there was ever a catgory of people who understand the concept PAYING HOMAGE to one's predacessors when it comes to the art of movement, I WOULD MOST CERTAINLY BE ON THAT LIST.

obviously i understand your comparison of the choreography of pleasure principle to that of cabaret, i own both the dvd and have seen the musical many times.but, my earlier comments were only meant in a "pop" context if you will, otherwise one could go on for hours about this and we'd have to take micheal jackson's moonwalk back to the 30's film cabin in the sky. however, understand that i wasn't trying to get so deep into the virtual history of dance on film. that being said, i think my comments above are hardly deserving of you having the unmitigated gall to refer to me as a dumbass. that's just plain rude.

Madonna had that look way before Cyndi came on the scene (ca. 1982). LOTS of people had that look.

I'm not a basher of Jessica or pop in general but that cover of "Take My Breath Away" is terrible and I think that reason why is just what you said. There is this fake emotion and nothing real there. It's just vocal gymnastics and it sucks! It's not like the original was something groundbreaking but it felt more natural than this cover which is very forced.

falloff OMG, that's for sure! She is a slob who never picks up after herself. I heard that she never had to clean because her mom did it all for her. Big mistake, now Jessica thinks she doesn't have to clean. disbelief I know she's famous and all, but damn, if you don't like cleaning, get yourself a maid to do it for you.

Um, Janet owes absolutely nothing to Madonna. She says that a lot of inspiration comes from Michael and Prince, but what does she get from Madonna? Nothing. They are two completely different artists. Also, Janet and Madonna's carrers started getting big around the same time, so you can't say that Janet came after she did.
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.
