Talk about overratedness: They release an album of pseudo-aggressive toneless shit after a six year long hiatus of boozing and stumbling to record tacky "orchestral versions of their classics" - the new record goes #1 all across the world and they still manage to sell-out stadiums.

Actually that's quite an accomplishment, if you think about it.

Prince and Michael were both at the top of their game at the same time in the 80's. The media labeled them "alter egos" & rivals. Competition was high. They watched each other's performances to see what captivated the audience, how they could improve and be #1.
**Have you ever watched the performance of James Brown, where he calls Michael to the stage for a performance, and then when Michael's done he insists that James introduce PRINCE to come on stage!! So then Michael goes off and then Prince does his thing!**
**Did you know that Michael's song "BAD" was originally intended to be a duet between Prince and Michael? (Prince said though 'You don't need me to be on this, it'll be a hit w/out me.' (per Quincy Jones)**
**In MJ's movie Moonwalker, Lil' MJ asks what Bubbles is wearing, "a Prince T shirt". CUTE
~~Pick up any Prince or Michael books and check the index to see how much the other is referenced throughout.

The second half of Abbey Road is totally unbeatable pop. Happiness is a warm gun ain't bubbly, ain't boring and ain't kiddie music.

Quite often their sound comes across as simple too, but they had their fair share of structures / notes / chords etc. that make you go,

And i love it even when it is the kiddie stuff, to be honest.

George Harrison's "All things must pass" i think is the best of any of the ex-Beatle's solo material. And something and while my guitar...are two of the finest things that the beatles ever did.

Note- I can't believe someone put Maxwell on that list. Anyone that has heard this brother sing live, knows he is the real deal. He is one of the few from the "new" school that can actually sing very well and entertain. Women are always going goo goo over his looks but beyond that, he really is talented.
