Guitar...Hey homie!
I can like someone and think there overrated!I think Beyonce is overrated as far as songwriting and production goes. Girl got songwriter of the year! Bootylicious? Come on! Production...what beat has she made? What instruments can she play? Saying "I like that here" should not give you a production credit.

I have to disagree w/you on D'Angelo. He's not in the spotlight and he doesn't want it. He makes great music and he's a brilliant musician.

Okay. I can't definitely say you're wrong.

But to me, his sound is somewhat repetitive and he takes too long between records. It took him 4 years to put out "Voodoo"? The LP featured no real departures or surprises from his debut LP and sounds like it could have been released in 1998. I love both albums, but I think he's a tad overrated and could be more prolific. That's just namepeace's opinion.

Happy orging.

clapping clapping clapping

Thank U for mentioning this fact, some people are just way too narrow minded. Fancy assuming only gay men enjoy dance music, that is way pathetic.

I'd also like to add a few more unbearable artists to my list from above:

JA Rule
50 Cent
Jennifer Lopez
Snoop Dog
Bow Wow
The Fugees
Outkast

Me, too. I love his debut and I think his followup didn't flow as well as Brown Sugar did. I gave Voodoo away.

Not to me. Other than "Spanish Joint" and maybe "Chicken Grease" it sounded similar to the previous album, except it was more bass-heavy.

IMO - there are so many overrated "artists" that I could type a list a mile long. Also, it doesn't mean that I don't like some of these people, I just feel they are extremely overrated and there are many more artists with a lot more talent.

Jay Z
Madonna
Celine
Britney barf
Kylie
Ashanti
Kelis barf
Nirvana
50 Cent barf
JLo
Snoop Dogg barf
Timberlake
Evanescence barf
Radiohead
The Darkness
Janet Jackson
Shania Twain
Limp Bizkit
Usher
Ludacris
Chingy
