Michael Jackson - Heaven Can Wait... coolest R&B cut I've heard in years!

Those vocals, the harmonies, the strings, that chorus...

Most soulful R&B track I've heard in years!

that chorus is amazing,isn't it?

"Tell the angels no
I don't wanna leave my baby alone
I don't want nobody else to hold her
that's a chance I'll take
baby I'll stay
Heaven Can Wait"

that song sounds like a long-lost outtake from 'Off The Wall'

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

the best thing about 'Invincible' are the slower tracks and ballads."Heaven Can Wait","Break Of Dawn","Butterflies","Whatever Happens" and "Speechless" are the album's highlights.

The uptempo songs are just so-so.

Unbreakable and You Rock My World are fine songs.
I admit to liking Heartbreaker and Invincible, too.

And Don't Walk Away is a lovely ballad. He sings it beautifully.

Butterflies used to be my favorite song off the album til Heaven Can Wait started getting airplay. That song made me get the album.

That and "Butterflies" were the only two songs I used to listen from Invinceble. clapping It had that classic MJ feel to it...especially at the end when he was hollaring.

nod The only really decent songs on an otherwise lackluster disc.

My recent playlist is

Unbreakable
Heartbreaker (sometimes)
Invincible
Break of dawn
Heaven can wait
You rock my world
Butterflies
Privacy (you just have to love the last two minutes!)
Don't walk away
Whatever happens

That would have been a tight album! Damn, they really screwed it up!

clapping co-sign "Invincible" sucks! MJ's worst album since "Music and Me"

Keep this shit up and the next thing you know ALL the tracks will be listed as being the shit and then you will wonder why it only sold 47 copies. On a more positve note, Heaven can wait ranks in my Top 5 Jacko cuts.

Where am I cause I don't know you! Even though I can appericate some of the songs on the album I hate that song. The chorus is boring and listless. It sounds like they ran out of music and his voice is weak. That's just me though. THere is something about that song that doesn't work for me. There is somehting missing.

Great how we all like different things.

It ranks as my fave of his since Off The Wall. The first half of the album is his best run of songs since the first half of that 1979 masterpiece. For me at least. wink

I've burned my own copy of Invincible. This is a much better listen:

Unbreakable
You Rock My World
Invincible
Break Of Dawn
Heaven Can Wait
Xscape
Butterflies
Whatever Happens
Heartbreaker
2000 Watts
Shout
Speechless
The Lost Children
Cry
Threatened

I've tried many different track listings for my own version.
I ended up with this:

Unbreakable
Heartbreaker
Heaven Can Wait
Invincible
You Are My Life
Butterflies
Speechless
2000 Watts
Break Of Dawn
You Rock My World
Don't Walk Away
Shout
Whatever Happens
Threatened.

I've never heard Michael's song (actually, I haven't heard anything off of invinicible), but Meat Loaf had a song on "Bat Out Of Hell" called "Heaven Can Wait" which is a very good track (the whole album is, actually)...

U R My Life has a beautiful hook.
the song is SOOO Babyface, but when he sings:

"more like the stars that twinkle at night" ....it kills me.
best part of the song.
& yeah the ballads r killer.

there r only 2-3 bad songs on the album.
the rest makes me crank or cry or get sexy.

smile

luvya mike!
