I would really like to see Frank Sinatra kick Justin Timberlake off his biopic. giggle Seriously, if Frank Sinatra were alive and this was happening the same way as if Janet, it wouldn't be the same for a number of reasons. While Lena has the right to say no, they really have no right to make this movie after Janet got the ball rolling. They've pretty much used Janet and spit her out. Guess what? If some newcomer does this role, I along with most of the world don't give a rats ass! Also, while I hardly see Justin as a classy guy, compared to Sinatra...shit![/quote]

Exactly!
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance... well, they're no friends of mine.

If this were Frank Sinatra kicking Justin Timberlake off of his biopic because he didn't have enough class then no one would be making a fuss.

I should clarifty (because we all know what an asshole Sinatra was) - professional class, which is something that both Lena and Frank share.

The fact that this movie was in pre-production BEFORE Janet signed on indicates to me that enough people showed interest in it to get it off the ground. And enough people would watch a Lena Horne biopic if it was promoted properly.

Just as ratings were massive for that Annette Funicello biopic "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" in 1996 - with some no-name soap star in the title role - there is definite potential here without Janet.

I agree with Lena having the right to not want Janet playing her. However...just because Janet exposed a breast does mean she lacks class...I think she is one of the classiest out there. It showed class to pull out of the project as well as to not attend the Grammys.

And while we are discussing class....I remember Lena Horne lookin' not too classy a few years ago...obviously high out of her mind and making no sense at all as a presenter at the Grammys. No...it was not because she's old...I saw her on other shows/interviews around the same time and she was more with it than she was on the Grammys. She was obviously on something and was extremely embarrassing. I don't know whats worse...exposing a breast or coming on stage in your elder years cracked out.

I don't recall ever seeing that, and I've watched the Grammys for the past 10 years. There has never been a HINT of scandal in Lena's life, and unless you can back this up, I don't think it's believable.

Perhaps you were confusing Lena with Liza Minelli, who did indeed make a drugged-out appearance at the Grammys several years ago.

It may not have been the Grammys...maybe it was the AMAs or some other awards show (they all blend together). But I definitely saw it. And no...I am not mistaking her for Liza...I remember that as well. Believe it if you want to...there was no press around it...people may have thought she was a loopy old lady and paid no attention. But I noticed...and I thought it was embarrassing. I still respect Lena for paving the way for the black community. Though honestly I never knew she was black until the 1990s. When I was a kid I remember seeing her on Seseme Street and just thought she was white...I never really cared either way I guess.
