So it's now official: Madonna will tour this summer!

One of the most reliable Madonna fansites (MadonnaTribe) claims that Madonna is definitely planning to tour real soon.According to them "We have heard from a reliable source that Madonna is indeed going to tour soon. This is the first time we mention the "tour" in our news section. We decided to report this because our source is very reliable".

Other signs that a tour might be in the planning stages...

***A launch date for the tour has been mentioned. If you believe the rumors,it will start June 1 in San Francisco (this would most likely be the Shoreline Amphitheatre, which is actually in Mountain View).

***CNN News reported the following: Madonna is negotiating with some countries where she'll take her show, but some are already confirmed: USA,Germany,Italy,Portugal,France,England,Spain,Scotland,Australia,Japan,Brasil and Puerto Rico (NOTE: I can't seem to find the link for this news at the CNN website!).

***"I have heard from a reliable source from Warner Bros.A tour is in the works for start up this summer" claims a fan on another fansite.

***Madonna's official site recently posted a "What is your favorite Madonna tour?" poll on the website.Could she be trying to get some input on what type of tour her fans really want?

I'm not gonna get excited until we have an OFFICIAL announcement from Madonna's camp, but I have to admit,I am encouraged by these constant rumors that won't go away. All of these "reliable sources" can't be wrong.

a new tour would be nice. especially if it is a tour just for a tour's sake. you know, a bunch of older and newer material but not necessarily in support of any record.

Since I'm sure that some of you will start posting your "dream setlists",I'll go ahead and be first lol I'm gonna call this tour the "Closer To The Light" World Tour 2004 (based on a line from her song "Nobody Knows Me"),it seems to reflect her current worldview. No doubt, this tour will be more of a greatest hits-type tour, since she herself has said that her last tour was probably too "self-indulgent".Perhaps she will tour this summer to promote an upcoming box set?

MADONNA "CLOSER TO THE LIGHT" WORLD TOUR 2004

Act 1---
"Nobody Knows Me"
"Into The Groove"
"Music"
"Justify My Love"
"Deeper And Deeper"

"Like A Virgin"

Act 2---

"Cherish"
"Crazy For You"
"Borderline"
"Rain"
"Love Don't Live Here Anymore/Take A Bow"
"Don't Cry for Me Argentina"

Act 3---
"Express Yourself"
"Like A Prayer"
"Secret"
"Nothing Fails/Don't Tell Me"
"Live To Tell"
"Oh Father"

"Holiday"
"Ray Of Light"

I'm not sure we'll ever see that box set the way things are going between Warner and her at the moment.

If she shuns Canada this time, I can't go because of my commitments this summer. Oh well sad

I like your setlist except for "Die Another Day", which is NOT good enough to be performed on any tour, let alone be the closing song. Ugh!

I think "Die Another Day" would make a perfect closing song for the concerts.During this song,Madonna will be tortured, beat up and almost killed by her dancers, who are dressed like reporters...lol...Then at the end,she survives it all.Kinda a symbolic performance lol

The song is merely OK and would leave me with a sour taste in my mouth at the end of such a great setlist. There are much better songs that might be the setup for a performance like the one you describe. "Human Nature", maybe? I'd love to see that. It's more issue-specific and the lyrics are much more applicable to her situation.

I'm also kind of leaning towards something like "Express Yourself" as a closing song. That's always been one of her main messages and the fans would just eat it up. I think it's better to end a performance on a positive, upbeat note than on what some might construe as a narcissistic "I'm still here after all these years" version of "Human Nature" or "Die Another Day". Witness the reception she got during the DWT when she closed with "Music". That brought the house DOWN.

Closing with "Holiday" would also be great. Her signature song and an enduring anthem. She can do "Die Another Day" in the middle, where it won't stand out so much wink

Mr Eye, you're a cool g-eye, and this really isn't personal, BUT I can't fucking stand Madonna. I wish she'd stay at home with that one note talent, silver thermometer up his arse husband of hers and write more hilariously bad kiddies books.

tour begins in may!

WOW!

ok, so i'm thrilled for this year's tours...janet, prince, madonna, bowie (again)...geez, i need a raise!

i have to work on my dream set list, davideye, but i can tell you it will consist of a lot of erotica, like a prayer, ray of light and american life. the early stuff would be limited to everybody, burning up, dress you up, holiday, into the groove and la isla bonita...but i'll work on this. lol

In 2001,I paid $275 for a GREAT SEAT to her concert (first night).I paid another $200 for a couple of nosebleed seats for the second show.So this year,I'm expecting that the ticket prices will be high. It's okay though...Madonna is worth it lol

From MTV.com/news

MADONNA SEEKS DANCERS FOR MAY TOUR LAUNCH

Madonna wants you--for her upcoming world tour.

The pop star has hinted for months that she would hit the road to support her album 'American Life' and now the trek is set to launch in May,over a year after the album's release, according to an open call notice for dancers.

Madonna is looking for "strong and versatile" dancers in the New York area, according to a notice in the dancing trade website Answers4Dancers.com.Though the number of people to be hired remains to be determined, tour director Jamie King is interested in seeing a variety of styles,as dancers will be asked to showcase their own freestyle moves as well as learn choreography on the spot.

"Looking to see anything from acrobatics, breaking, popping, locking to ballet, reeling, riverdancing and tango" the ad reads."Choreography will be unpredictable...anything goes!".

Dancers are asked to bring not only two pictures and resumes, but also kneepads and different shoes. And if they're picked, dancers should be willing to "cut or change hair drastically".

Auditions will be held at 310 West 52nd Street in New York City on Saturday at 10:AM for male dancers, and at 2:30 PM for female dancers.Callbacks will be held on Sunday.

Rehearsals begin in March in Los Angeles.

What is the "Nobody Knows Me" book?

The Nobody Knows Me book is a new picture book with various quotes from Madonna.Supposedly,it contains rare photos but most fans don't seem to be that impressed with it.It'll probably be sold on the upcoming tour.
