Hey! I love the early-mid 90s hip-hop, like Mobb Deep, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac, Pharcyde, Naughty by Nature, "Juicy" from Biggie, KRS-One, ollllld OutKast like "Player's Ball", and lately I've been listening to a lot of Edan, who's an underground MC who's record I found for my boyfriend, who's a DJ who spins hip-hop and house. He's got a lot of underground rap records that are incredible.
As for the newer, mainstream artists, I'm not really into them, although I love Kanye West's album.

Indeed, "Blowout Comb" is the most underrated classic LP in hip-hop history. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

-KRS-1(This brotha DROPS JEWELS whenever he lectures,,,he's always active in lecturing high schools and universitys. Check him out,,,he's underground right now).
-Mos Def(Simply clever and str8 2 the point-Check out what he says about R.Kelly's anti-movment thang). -Talip Kweli(When I saw that New Yorker muslim woman with burqa,,all covered up in his video I nearly got emotional becoz its nice to see something you could identify with,,esp in HIP-HOP). -Guru(If you want to hear Jazz/Funk & hip-hop fusion then I def recommend this artist,,,,def someone with a PROMISING career). -Common & Roots got tight shit over here and over there. -Wu Tang Clan(Sho nuff,,,this is like a hip-hop passpord to where I'm living at. You ain't got no hip-hop flava unless you hear those cats). -Biggie(I know you think he's overrated and kinda commercial but trust me this brotha got clever rhymes. He was def a tight ass MC) Thats all I could think of right now,,,,hip-hop 2day is really wounded, nothing is uplifting.

If I could find it, I would send you my original thread ON THIS VERY TOPIC. Since I can't, I will address it now. You are absolutely right. For several reasons: 1. The bombs that were dropped in 1993 were still being felt: Black Moon's "Enta Da Stage," Wu-Tang Clan's "36 Chambers," Dr. Dre's "The Chronic," Tribe's "Midnight Marauders," Snoop Dogg's "Doggystyle," among others. and then there are the many LPs that dropped during that year . . . 2. Digable Planet's "Blowout Comb" 3. Jeru The Damaja's "The Sun Rises In The East" 4. Gang Starr's "Hard To Earn" 5. Redman's "Dare Iz A Darkside" 6. Method Man's "Tical" (not a CLASSIC LP but feat. "Bring The Pain") 7. The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Ready To Die" 8. Common Sense's "Resurrection" (feat. the classic "I Used To Love H.E.R.") 9. KMD's "Black Bastards" (scheduled for release in 1994) 10. The Beatnuts' self-titled LP Think about the singles from these LP's alone: "Juicy," "Come Clean." "Bring The Pain," "I Used To Love H.E.R.," "Dial 7," "Mass Appeal," and so on. I don't think there's been one single year that saw these many jewels being dropped Anybody else have some info on '94 releases? I know I've left some out . . .
