WHOA! I Didn't Knew That Patti Austin Was British?

Not like its that important or bad by any means!

LOL but to tell ya the truth, I've alwaysed took a full pride in her being a high-profiled New Yorker lady(or like I assumed since she's a an NYC native).

Anyway, I just heared her song "Body Languange" 5 minutes ago in the radio. Wonder how does Isaac Hays think of her version!

Why does her OWN web site say she was born in New York? Not only that - she made her stage debut at Harlem's famous Apollo Theatre with her godmother Dinah Washinton at age three. Now I grant you age nine found her travelling to Europe with her Godfather, Quincy Jones. Maybe that is the reason for the confusion. Some of those Greatest Hits packages are manufactured in Europe and contain dodgy information.

Patti's not British. I've seen her interviewed.

I don't disagree with you,, she IS an NYC native lady. Ok, since you don't believe me, here's her OWN liner notes from the Very Best Of Patti Austin(I'm sure you got that one in yo shelve, everybody does):

The Family Tree

"This song is my 1st hit, I was just a teenager when I did that. The east coas stations still play and whenever I got to MOUTHER COUNTRY and get interviewed by BBC they force me to hear it. The song is about multi-racial relationship btw"

OK. I think I understand. Great Britain is called the Mother (Mouther? smile ) Country because that's where most of us Americans came from - England is our 'Mother'.

Actually this CD is one that I don't own...boxed
