when prince has won awards in the past, did he thank marvin gaye, stevie wonder, sly and the family stone, carlos santana, joni mitchell, jimi hendrix, david bowie, the rolling stones, the beatles or the countless other's whom have been in incredible influence on his music? | |

Yes The infamous 1994(5?) AMA special acheivement award, with the Purple medley & Gold medley Not everyone, but alot. Watch that. As for Andre mentioning Prince... since he goes around drooling in all his interviews lately how much he loves him and wants to meet him...would make sense.  | |

1. Grammy or not - Andre can't sing!
2. He AIN'T Prince. I'd hope he's not as preoccupied with being like Prince as some on this site make him out to be, otherwise he'd NEVER have an identity of his own. 3. Why should he pay homage to influences at an awarrds show? First Grammy - thank GOD, your label, mom, your bandmates, manager and family. By that time, your airtime should be up. You can thank influences the next time around (if there is one). Thanking influences just makes you look like a copycat anyway. Prince didn't play one note on the Love Below - why the HELL should HE get props? | |

Anyone notice whenever you add Prince to your music style your huge! OR have your best song.
Janet Jackson.. she was nothing before 1986 Britney Spears.. rip off Prince and have the only song anyone takes about past your first reason we know you. (Slave 4 u) Andre 3000... He even does the "Thank You" speech 
Eminem... admits he is ripping off Purple Rain Movie year before ..but when it comes out all that kinda talk is gone.. BUT even at the Premire he acted like Prince not talking

Seems that when Aerosmith's Steven Tyler read the winner he only mentioned Andre's title of the Outkast CD. Noticed how it seemed to take forever for them to come to the stage? (I was wondering if they'd gone off to the bathroom, you know how folks do at these award shows.) Maybe the duo was really confused? So, Andre got up there, said "Thank you" and was gone. I don't know, I was confused, but I didn't read in a bad way. | |
