what we have with Guy Sebastian is the usual young performer being incredibly overexposed, exploited, chewed up and spit out by the Record Machine once the $ are made. The usual treadmill.

I'd be very surprised if we see this guy in 5 years. But he must have known that going in, signing his name off, indirectly promoting McDonald's and a million other poisons to the youth watching Australian Idol throughout the course of the show. Basically they are all puppets doing what they're told.

Would a show like this produce/discover someone like Prince? Hell no.

I fear his 15 minutes are gonna be very brief. When the public sours on him (if they haven't already) life is gonna be very different. I'd hold on to the crumbs I'm being paid and keep them for a rainy day if I were him.

agreed. He needs to do his own non-poop material. I just hope he gets that chance, given the contract. The vultures know to strike when the iron's hot, with writers and songs lined up way in advance, so as to have 'product' out there ASAP. Hopefully he'll get that chance, but I'm not holding my breath.

But hey, the point is when he sings he TRYS TOO HARD...his voice wavers in such an annoying way that he ends up trying so hard he destroys the song!!
