"just a little" on the radio??

has anyone heard the song on radio? i guess the fact that it's crappy would have reduced the spins but has anyone heard it at all? maybe she's been blacklisted?

I haven't heard it. (Apparently) she's doing OK in terms of adds and spins, though. We'll see how it progresses.

I'm sure SassierBritches will be here to post stats and detailed graphs and completely unbiased chart projections ("#1! #1! #1!") soon enough.

Who is the artist? Janet? I though the song was called "Love Me A Little While". I've heard it a few times. Not a bad song but certaintly not one of my Janet favorites but I wasn't thrilled with "All For You" the first time I heard it and now it's one of all time favorites.

I haven't heard it, and I find it very boring..entertainemnt Weekly's review is right on. Great intro, but then her new wimpy voice comes in. they want the old tough Janet voice not the airy robotic one of the last few albums..

When you say last few albums, which "few" are you referring to? I, being a die-hard Janet Jackson fan, can say that I wasn't impressed with her performance on the All For You album as far as Janet records go, but the last two records before that were The Velvet Rope and janet., both of which she hardly sounded "wimpy" in, and I think most people would agree. Are there secret wimpy records that I know nothing about. If not, think about what you're saying instead of talking just to put something down.

In answer to the original question, they've been playing "Just a Little While" a lot on the radio here in Philadelphia.

He said she sounded "airy robotic" on the last few, "wimpy" on "Just A Little While" wink

I still disagree with his comment on the last few albums.

just some info for the confused:

on CHR/POP formats its been added to 49 new stations and 1049 new spins! it's still the highest bullet.(source: allaccess.com) speaking from that info, i think the track will go to number one on airplay once the numbers come in and stations see that they have a hit. requests for the song has been big and many radio stations across the country ran janet specials all weekend long. once the proper single is released (with a video), it's gonna blow up.

and speaking of the 'proper' single...just a little while is not the first single from the album so all this talk of 'she should have released something else" is irrelevant. the first single is the one that kanye west produced. this was only sent to radio because it leaked.

now, if you're gonna come to the party...you need to come correct! lol

i haven't seen that review but here's one from billboard's next issue:
The following review of "Just A Little While" appears in the February 14 issue of Billboard Magazine:

"Just A Little While"
Producer(s): Dallas Austin
Writer(s): J. Jackson, D. Austin
Publisher(s): Black Ice Publishing/Cyptron Music/EMI Blackwood Music, BMI
Label/Catalog Number: Virgin 7243-5-48435-5-6 (CD promo)
Source: Billboard Magazine
Originally Reviewed: February 14, 2004

Janet Jackson knows how to make a great single. Her latest, "Just a Little While," is another immediate radio hit. The track was leaked to the Internet at the end of January, and while Virgin maintains it did not choose it as the lead single (from the artist's new album), there isn't any reason why "Just a Little While" won't be a smash. The song is supported by guitars reminiscent of "Dirty Mind"-era Prince, new wave synths and the kind of swirling musicality that could garner it multiformat success. In signature fashion, Jackson crafts lyrics that are innocent on the surface yet naughty upon closer inspection. Yes, Miss Jackson is talking about sex, plain and simple. This is the first preview of the artist's eighth studio album, "Damita Jo," due March 30. -KC

I think this song is really good! It's better than anything I've heard her do since "Velvet Rope" anyway.

You know, if the radio station here would get off of "Hey Ya"'s tit, their narrow playlist might have room for THE NEW JANET JACKSON SINGLE! Like, wtf, I still have only heard her single on the fucking internet.

Kayne West? I'm not sure how I feel about that. So who are the producers of the new album again?

jamm and lewis, jackson, west, and austin. i think that's everyone.

kayne west is 'the new thing' right now so it only makes sense that a pop star like janet would want to work with him. i'm assuming he is capable of incorporating janet's style with his own. well, soon enough we'll see!
