Norah Jones New CD

Well Im not going to write a Long Review for Norah, because me and Norah go way back and I have always enjoyed her work and playing. The NEW cd picks up where the last left off, this time her band is even more involved and other special guests. I first saw Norah perform in 2000 and Im not going to say I knew she would be a STAR, I will say that I knew she would be around doing music and there is a big difference. For those of U like me whole Live in NYC the Clubs are the place to be, places like the Living Room, or the Bitter End or the Knitting Factory. Places like these are where artists like NORAH got there start and continue to play. Now I know the spotlight is on NORAH because of Come away with me and the fact that to date its sold 8 million, but honestly of those 8 million sold in the USA about 7 and half million won't stick with her and maybe even less, most bought the Cd to be on the bandwagon of the Grammy awards and some bought it because they are starving for someone different especially in the female vocalist category. But it really doesnt matter because Norah will stick around whether it be in the Clubs again, or little theaters, just the fact U can go out and play Music is the important thing. To date I have seen NORAH 17 times, second to only PRINCE on my list of concerts (prince 41 times), and each time there is something different, whether she does a song like PEACE or Duke Ellingtons "Melancholia", my LOVE of NORAH is because of her LOVE of MUSIC. I thank PRINCE for getting me into artists like JONI and MILES and many many more, and thats what NORAH does for me too, not only has she gotten me into artists that she works with like, Richard Julian and Jesse Harris but her Love of artists like Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell and Carole King and many more too. I think thats what its all about when its all said and done, having your gift and using it and enlightening people even if its just a few.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

You mean "Norah = valium", because that's the effect she has on me, this album is same old same ol*thunk* z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z.

Harlepolis

I'm having faith in Norah Jones. Sure, her playing is not OUTTA the universe(like how they claim about Alicia's playing) but the woman got something very special to offer(and fresh too).

But shit, if Aunt ReRe & Arif Mardin could have faith in her then hell why can't I?

Much props 2 her!
