First batch of Cure remasters coming in April!

drool I can't fucking stand myself!

from www.chainofflowers.com:

The first four re-masters will be available (tentatively) on April 13th, 2004. The albums will be:

Three Imaginary Boys (Cat # 78895), Seventeen Seconds (78896), Faith (78897) & Pornography (78898)

All 4 albums will be 2-cd sets. Specs for the bonus disc are unknown at this time.

Retail will be $18.98 each and, of course, they will be issued through Rhino in the U.S.

On another interesting but unrelated note, it appears that Rhino will also be re-issuing the Depeche Mode singles boxed sets on March 30th."

I heard he cut all his hair off and swore to never wear makeup again. Sounds like a fresh start.

Oh, those are the wack albums. Sorry, but there's only certain Cure releases that I like, and none of those are in that category.

Yeah, I figured you'd be the first to say that I was kooky. But this is just my opinion. I mean, there are some songs on each album that I dig, but as a whole I just think they're inconsistent. I'd probably only give props to "Pornography" though, because that was the start of their Goth phase. But here are my favorite Cure albums:

Boys Don't Cry
Japanese Whispers
The Head on the Door
Standing on the Beach
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
Disintergration
Bloodflowers

I guess I just don't understand, that's all. "Seventeen Seconds" is my favorite of theirs, although I love most of them. Strange that you don't like this period, cuz generally, it's most fans' favorite.

Well, you could say that I'm into the more popular stuff by them. I'm not like a die-hard fan, but I am appreciating them more and more over time.

I have not seen the entire DVD yet, however I have seen the edited version on Pay Per View. I think I might've mentioned that to you before.

It was awesome. big grin

I hear they're going back on tour again this summer. If they hit Columbus or Cleveland, I am so there.

Yeah, I imagine they'll tour. Their new album is supposed to come out in June and they always tour to support a new project. Have you ever seen them live? I've been a fan since I was about 12 but didn't see them live until 2000. I was totally blown away. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Oops! Sorry. Missed that one.

I would love to go. The Cure is my favorite band and I've only seen them once. The Pixies are another of my favorites too. There are rumors flying around that Bowie might play as well. If I found out all 3 would be there, I would have no choice but to go. I'd probably just plan a trip to see my brother around the show.

Are you going?

I'm trying to get down there. I live in Vancouver, so it would be somewhere close to a 30 hr drive

I did a MapQuest search for you and the distance from Vancouver to LA is about 1300 miles. So even if you were only going 60 MPH the whole time, it would only take about 20 hours. If you had someone to go with, you could probably even make it in one day. Hope you get a chance to go. biggrin

This is just all too much for a girl in one day (especially jsut coming off major pain meds)!!! I want the Remasters!!! I want to go to San Diego!!! I want to see them in Detroit!!! I'm going out in the 15 degrees to my car to get the Dots set so I can finish listening to the fantastic set!!! Thanks everyone for the information. This is a perfect sound for the intense cabin fever I'm having now.

They're undeniably good live. Anyone that would knock you for that, hasn't seen them.
