Joyce Hunting - Day 1

Today I went around with my mate Kramer to every record store and market in the Sydney CBD, picture of Joyce in hand, asking if they have the LP or have ever seen it around. We got chuckles, weird stares, and belly laughs, but nobody had it. However, we did come across one fellow at a second hand store who said he'd seen it pass through his store before, calling the album the "bottom rung of the musical ladder" and saying that "we can't afford to keep stuff here that's only worth ten cents."

The hunt - and the mystery - goes on...

Oh and I did find another clue to the Joyce Enigma...

A guy in another store recognised her, and said that she was an australian artist! Joyce is an Aussie! Who would've guessed?

The guy from BizzareRecords told me that he was going to post all the information he had on this board and that he joined Prince.org but was waiting for all the stuff to process through. That was a week ago! I'll email him again to wake him up!

Wow, who would have known JOYCE would be so popular on the Prince message board??

Anyway this is Nick from BizarreRecords.com, the holder of the much demanded Joyce record.

You guys seem to be having so much fun speculating about Joyce, I hate to spoil it by giving you the true info... ok, I will...

From the back cover, Joyce is from Sealy, TX (outside of Houston). (I alredy tried tracking her down there, no luck...) Her songs include such hits as "Heaven's Sounding Sweeter", "How Great Thou Art", "I'll Cling to jesus", and for some reason "Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Heres a pic of the back cover:

BTW as someone pointed out I am selling "Joyce" T-shirts, just go to www.bizarrerecords.com

Thanks!

Same. Money's tight this week 'cause I had a predicament, but I plan on copping one of those shirts, too. I'll sleep in it!

See, I knew it. I told y'all that her kind of music is either Country & Western or Gospel. I think it's a little bit of both.

Okay, I googled the producer of the CD, Levoy Dewey, and he has his own website (he too is based in Texas). No mention of JOYCE, but u can contact him through the website. http://levoydewey.com/

Maybe this guy might know her current whereabouts?

If not, maybe this producer can give us a blow by blow account of the "JOYCE" recording sessions? A real behind the scenes insight of the whole recording session.

Anyone up for doing this? If so, keep us all informed!
