Diana Ross - Its My House

What a cleverishly written tune. The lyrics are so simple yet beautiful and engaging with the melody of the music.

The album is really mostly disco medleys, but this track was the most that stood out in the album.
Any1 share this track as a favorite?

(lyrics: Ashford & Simpson)
There's a welcome mat at the door
And if you come on in
You're gonna get much more
There's my chair
I put it there
Everything you see
Is with love and care

It's my house and I live here
(I wanna tell you)
It's my house and I live here

On the table, there sits a rose
Through every window
A little light flows
Books of feeling on the shelf above
'Cause it was built for love
I was built for love

It's my house and I live here
(I wanna tell you)
It's my house and I live here

There's a candle to light the stairs
Where my dreams await someone to share
Oh, there's music on the radio
And good vibrations won't let me go
I put my name on the ceilin' above

'Cause it was buillt for love
It was built for love, ooh
You say you wanna move in with me
You say you wanna move in with me
Got to follow the rules to get me
Got to follow the rules to get me
You wanna visit my house
Say you wanna drop by
Wanna visit my house, yeah
To see me sometimes

There's a welcome mat at the door
And if you come on in
You're gonna get much more
I put my name in the ceilin' above
'Cause it was built for love
It was built for love

It's my house and I live here
(I wanna tell you)
It's my house and I live here
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Yes,that's a great song. In the disco era,Diana Ross was overshadowed by Donna Summer, but there is no denying that she did some great music during this period. Her 1979 album 'The Boss' is a strong collection of smooth disco jams.

Ashford & Simpson are one of the greatest due-writers(its no secret) their lyrics are always simple, earthy and speaks 2 the heart YET very metaphoric and spiritual.

Its mo' than enough that Maya Angelou eknowledged them as the BEST authors in the history of RnB music.

Are they still 2ghether? Just wondering!

For some strange reason (the reason probably being that I had money burning a whole in my pocket), I decided to buy the deluxe edition "Diana" disco album (even though I've never really liked Diana and had nothing else she did) and it was really amazing (props to Chic). Is this one better than that one?

The Boss and Diana are both off the hook.

I love putting on headphones and hearing Nick Ashford singing high in the background of "No One Gets The Prize"
