40 Years ago today in music history - Meet The Beatles

Jan 20, 1964 - The Beatles’ LP "Meet the Beatles" is released in the U.S. Songs: "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "I Saw Her Standing There," "This Boy," "It Won’t Be Long," "All I’ve Got to Do," "All My Loving," "Don’t Bother Me," "Little Child," "Till There Was You," "Hold Me Tight," "I Wanna Be Your Man," and "Not a Second Time."

Was anyone here around at the time?

If not, how do you think this selections holds up now?

I got the album, but no...I was not around that time. But it's a best selection. nod My fave song from that album is "Not a second time" and "till there was you". The Beatles are the coolest band that is SO down-2-earth and they act like themselves and nobody else. smile I'm a fan, y'know. giggle

Do you have the original US album? If you have it on CD, that's actually 'With The Beatles', the UK album. The tracklisting is different.

When the back catalogue was released on CD, they opted to only release the UK versions of each album, since those were the ones The Beatles worked on and personally approved.

If you have Meet The Beatles, though, that's great - and pretty valuable, I'm sure...
