What in the SAM HELL Was Micheal Doing Dancing at His Arraignment...on Top of His Car???

You know, I only saw a little bit of the behavior in question, but it strikes me as odd...actually I even have a difficult time choosing a correct adjective for how it strikes me, but, I'm just wondering, does anyone else think it looks BAD for him to 1. show up late for his arraignment, and then 2. just be bursting out into dance-after he's had such serious charges levied against him in court? I know I can be uptight sometimes, but I feel like old boy was completely disrepectful to the proceedings. Even if he's not guilty he should have maintained a certain level of behavior (especially since these charges are so serious and involve the issue of children- it's not like he's being called in for a traffic ticket!), rather than turn it into the "Look at Me-I'm The World's Biggest Entertainer-So Much So That I Can Dance Outside of My Arraignment for Child Molestation Charges- And The World Will STILL Love Me!" Show...

That was kinda gross for me...

Besides that, I have alot of friends and family members who are lawyers and we were discussing where Mark Geragos's head was at to allow Micheal to do that; either he's pursuing some really a-typical Geragos defense tactics in this thing, or maybe it is true that old Mike has too many cooks (family, spiritual advisors, and new law firms) in the pot to keep his defense strategies on track.

I seriously hope that Micheal didn't do it, but I also hope that he maintains a certain level of dignity and maturity throughout this so as to not make himself look like he's mocking the system...but again, maybe it's just me!

1. Yes and
2. Yes

For everyone who whines about how down the media is on Michael, think about this: if this had been ANY other accused pederast dancing on top of a car at his arraignment, that alone would have made the news.

i dont belive that this was an act of defience or niavity, i genuinly think mj just wanted to show his fans that he appreciates thier support, all those demos and things that those hard core fans have been doing must mean something to him. if mj walked straight back to his car without saying a thing ppl would have said it was a sign of guilt. what the hell the whole worlds waiting for him to do something 'eccentric' why disappoint ?

I think that the idea that the whole world is waiting for him to do something eccentric during this very serious time is a bit of a stretch...in terms of the fans, I wonder why he couldn't have done something a little more, say, maybe staid - such as continue to shake hands or dole out an autograph or two? I've seen countless celebrities work crowds where they do what my friends call "the touch", where you navigate past people ,gated or otherwise, and you just touch the tips of fingers...and in this case old boy would've been one of the few celebs that could have done that wearing a GLOVE and no one would have cared (in case he had one of those celebrity "I'm -scared and I don't want to touch them"- attacks, lol!). I could definitely see that being a little more respectful than the dance on top of his SUV. I just can't imagine anyone else being able to do that (whether they want to show gratitude for supporters or whomever), and not being taken to task for it.

I think he's an idiot who has no respect for the law and its procedures. Late for your own arraignment?? HELLO???

He sees himself above the law, obviously!

It totally disgusts me.

It was disrespectful, and it made him -- more than usual -- look daft.

My favorite quote: The judge saying, "You're starting off on the wrong foot with me..." as he chastised MJ for showing up late.

I've just seen the footage on the news... at what point was he dancing on the car? I only saw him standing on top and waving to fans. As for him being late... well I also believe he's guilty as hell but in fairness, he had to wade through a sea of fanatic people so you can't really blame him for being 20 minutes late.

ReeseStrongnight, I have to agree with you. It was very disrespectful and I couldn't believe my eyes. He wasn't doing a dance routine on the roof, but the whole thing was too much. I think his lawyers told him about reality after that.

Oh and another thing... wait til it's over and then party!

He also wore sunglasses in court, which is considered very rude but the judge didn't comment on it.

I agree showing up late was a stupid thing to do, although the circumstances were somewhat of an xcuse.

The fact that he stood on top of his car for less than a minute to aknowledge the people who came out there to support him, well, it may not b the usual thing to do, but i didn't think it was disrespectful of the proceedings per se.

The half-assed claims on the 60 minutes interview were much more harmfull imho, this time at least he appeared combative, convinced of the favorable outcome of the proceedings and determined not to change his ways bcause some false claims were made against him (somebody knows the exact number of legal procedures this guy went through? once i read over a 1000, but that can't b right).

Of course, IF he is guilty, all this would make him even more dilusional than he usually appears, but if he's not guilty, i say, good for him.

This drawing suggests he did take them off, so he prolly only had them on when entering the court.

He did dance. Read the various news articles about it. The media has gotten over the tardiness and has moved onto the dancing. Guess you didn't see all the footage.

I knew about him being late; but the way he spontaneously "busted a move" after his court appearance, I was unaware of this.

Michael has been so far gone mentally for so long now, it is so very unlikely that he can or ever will come back to the "reality" of which most adults know & in which most adults live.

Part of me feels sorry for him, because I believe he really enjoys performing but he probably didn't expect his life to blow out of proportion as it has. Then another part of me has no pity for him, because he has contributed a lot to where his live is now, he has conciously & deliberately made certain decisions that either backfired or simply didn't turn out like he thought they would.

For the record, I'll admit that at 1st I thought he was "guilty" (I tend to be skeptical & cynical about certain things of this nature),
but after reading the transcript of the "60 Minutes" interview & simply.. rethinking what (little) I know about all this..
I have a strong sense that he probably is "innocent", even
though I think it's PATENTLY & WHOLLY
WRONG & INAPPROPRIATE
for a adult man & I child to "share a bed" in this context.
I would like to believe that "blood relaion" would prevent an uncle or a father from doing something to a child to whom they're related, but as we all know, this is (unfortunately) the case.

Michael really does need to show some respect in a court of law. This is not some "typical" in-store promotion or album signing or whatever. Just like Reese said, this is serious business. Michael's credibility-
what's left of it, for those of us who are not is fanatical, adoring, worshipping fans-
is really on the line. He needs to have a certain amount of decorum, he would do well to dress more conservatively & less flamboyantly. Right now it is possible that he could spend 20-some years in prison if he is convicted! If that doesn't even sober up "Peter Pan", then what will?

Finally, this has got to be the last time some pre-teen boy &/or his parents come out making noise about "child molestation"..
even if Michael Jackson is found innocent, he is now clearly known to be someone who sees absolutely nothing wrong with an adult man sharing a bed with a child not related to him. No parent on this planet now can say "oh, I didn't know Michael slept with children!" Everybody knows this now, everybody knows that Michael will do it whenever he wants, whenever an opportunity "presents" itself..

So the next time some idiot parent lets their kid "sleep over at Michael's", the state of California ought to sue that parent for wreckless endangerment &/or child neglect.. because we know there are (again, unfortunately) enough shady parents out there who would let their kid stay with Michael, then right after they would pump the kid for info or try to fabricate something or whatever.

All this suing Michael Jackson every few years has got to stop. Parents simply need to be RESPONSIBLE & show A LITTLE common sense & NOT let their children spend the night with Michael, unless the parent slept in the room with them too (how ridiculous does that sound? plus, I'm sure Michael would be happy to share the bed with the kid & the parent!)

I can't wait for this to be over. The media lives for this type of thing, so they can exploit every possible angle (& you know they do).

The only person I can think of who's relieved that this "Michael & the little boys Part II" came up is Kobe Bryant. OF COURSE he'd never admit this, but I'm sure that deep down somewhere he breathed a sigh of relief.

I really can't wait for this to be over, & I am praying that this kind of nonsense will never come up again, for Michael or for any "innocent" child.

In the meantime, while this whole trial is going on, it would really behoove Michael to respect the court, before the court disrespects him.

Someone commenting on the dancing also questioned the alleged injuries he suffered in police custody. He sure wasn't acting like someone in pain.

Even his getting up and going to the bathroom (to "doo-doo?") disrupted the courtroom.

Also, the judge was quoted as having said that he's going to treat Michael like anybody else.

You know, I was thinking about the injury thing too! Didn't he allege that he suffered a dislocated shoulder from police manhandling when he got arrested? But then I saw him HOIST HIMSELF onto the SUV- which look like it took alot of pysical effort, and I was just thinking, my 30 something ass can't hoist myself onto my own damned truck
on a good day, and here's a 45 year old man with a dislocated shoulder hoisting himself up on that car like a he's on the cast of "The A-Team"...

I sorta understand your point about the tardiness thing, but at the same time there's an old lecturing grandma inside of me that says "get your *ss up and leave the house earlier so you do not tick the court off by showing up late and therin showing disrespect". I've spent so many years working in production (for advertising, film, ect) where celebrities know it's practically a mortal sin to keep people waiting and they act accordingly. That's why I don't understand why Mike's "handlers" didn't have have him on time for COURT of all places...but, oh well...
