I'm actually a little surprised that Janet attended the arraignment and didn't keep her distance because of the new album coming out relatively soon. I know she supported Michael in the past, but I didn't expect her to publicly become involved.

And as a sidenote, she looked beautiful. smile

I'm not suprised she showed at all. Her heart's in the right place.

I know, she's always quietly backed Michael and she defends him whenever questioned about it, but she usually likes to avoid it as much as possible.

It could mean that maybe this allegation is more serious than previous ones.

As to the question that started off this thread; I haven't watched a lick of tv today, but I heard on the radio that the judge scolded Michael for showing up 20 minutes late.

and why did he wear that silly outfit? everyone else shows up in conservative, nice clothing, which is aways good in court, he shows up looking like he is waiting to be coronated for something

I was going to mention it, but it is significantly less bizarre than most ensambles of his. But you think he's give it up for a court appearance! Too weird. disbelief

nod
it is conservative by michael standards... but still a bit much

Well, of course it was a not-so-smart move, but somehowe i also thought it was a spontaneous way of saying thanks to the fans who showed up there. The guy doesn't have many people besides them supporting him and not aknowledging them would've been equally stupid.

Anyway, somebody saw the footage of MJ, Catherine and Janet in the van when Janet gets angry with a photographer (seemingly bcause he bothered Catherine). She looked like she would've smacked him, and MJ almost jumping out of the window from the backseat. Janet looks like one tough girl there smile

Yes that is so right.
The judge admonished him for being 20 minutes late for court.
Outside the courtroom MJ's lawyers blamed the delay on the throng of fans & the media for MJ being late for court. He didn't mention the fans had been encouraged to be there by MJ's family & reps.
Good move starting off by being disrespectful to the judge. But then he is MJ & he doesn't have to be respectful of anyone because he is childlike.
The judge also but a gag order on everyone which didn't please MJ's defense team.

If Janet wasn't looking back at what appears to be Michael, I'd swear she was getting ready to smack someone upside the head.

Over here in Europe we only get to see snippets, so anybody care to tell how it went? Me curious :d

If you've got CNN (and a strong case of insomnia) you can check out LARRY KING LIVE at about 2am Brittish time/3am western Europe time. I would bet heavily that he will cover the case for a while. Overall, Larry King Live covers American entertainment, politics, and other current events direct and UNEDITED from Los Angeles EVERY NIGHT, and I must admit it is my lifeline (as an American) for keeping up to date on a variety of news and entertainment stories. The show usually has a one-on-one interview or a panel of guests invited to comment on the topic of the show (and I stress LIVE and unedited!). Also, depending on where you're located, there may be a repeat of the previous nite's live show the next day, but the times differ from country to country (maybe check the CNN program listing site for your region on the web)...

In regards to the Jackson family- I've seen interviews with Jermaine and LaToya Jackson in the last year (where they talk about their brother), as well as other celebrities, and you definitely end up getting alot more (in their 1 hr interviews with Larry King) than you get in at least 6 months of snippets on European news!

Have fun with it (if you don't get too sleepy)!

I love the music, but, fuckin hell.

This thing is sad.

The pathetic "stalking" fans are making him look an idiot. What other star has thousands of "Followers" turning up, almost crying, screaming that he is innocent, when they have never even met him?

The fans are not doing him any favours. And neither is his choice of clothing or his time keeping. Arrogance.

And the nation of islam???

me personally, i would have wanted to go simply because being such a big fan for so long time i felt truely inspired by the man through out my life. so once again he faces a rough time so its nice to just show someone that he's got your support and to give somethinhg back and not just because you want to see him sing or dance or wave but just so they can feel your support. mj has a loyal fanbase and with that you'll always get the crazy ones making him look even more strange.

his time keeping is weak but so would many if thy had to get through crowds, just a little bit inconvenient (regardless if they were invited or not). as for his clothing, he looked fine, thats his 'normal' style of dressing, at least he didnt wear that funky blue shirt thing,

2 things:

1. They knew there would be crowds (in fact, they helped arrange them), so they should have left 20 minutes EARLIER than necessary to avoid pissing off the judge. Common sense. Like if a trip took 20 mins longer due to bad weather, you'd leave 20 mins earlier than necessary.

2. "Normal" for Michael is "flamboyant" for us. He might have avoided the badge pinned to his suit and the large medal hanging from his neck. He also might have avoided the glittery shoes. That would NOT have been a big sacrifice.

1> yeah they offred a few coaches to help some fans out but no the jackson family didn't actually provide aeroplanes for them to fly out on, they didn't compensate them for any expenses, sure ppl were asked to show thier support but it wasn't exactly easy to predict how many fans would turn up. mostly it was groups of individuals just looking for people to go with and a few fan clubs offering some tips. i know a lot of fans booked thier tickets for the earlier date so whe the arraignment was put back a week they weer kinda stuck. the press wasn't exactly invited either which also made up a large amount of the crowd. yeah mj should have made more of an effort to be on time (i'd actually like to be kinda early) but his reasons for lateness are justified.

2> like i said earlier what he chooses to wear is totally up to him, no one is going to say he's guilty or hes bad upon his choice of clothes. its almost irrelevant in that it would have been good if he dressed to what we call 'normal', but as his 'normal' is still flamboyant for some, perhaps our 'normal' seems just as ridiculus to him, well it's possible. but what with being 20 miniutes late i dont anyone was concerened with how he dressed.

mj has a lot to prove to the public, and yeah of course these minor changes would be slightly helpfull, but why should we encourage ppl to act as anything but themselves ? i think someones siggy says something true in this case as in that its better to be hated for what you are then loved for what you are not.

I absolutely don't care what he wears outside the courtroom, but wearing "glitter shoes" and medals the size of the cross Jesus was crucified on (exaggerration) doesn't really give him the sense of formality and understanding he needs at this point (ie. the judge and everyone else will believe that it's all a game to Michael).
