Radiohead "Optimistic" O.k. "Radioheads", who out there digs this song as much as I do? I really think it's one of the best tunes on 'Kid A' (next to "The National Anthem") and one of my favorite Radiohead songs period. I love how Thom Yorke sings the opening melody and then the guitar takes over with a new melody that's just as sweet. The drums are pumpin' and the guitars create a beautiful and spacey "atmosphere".
Flies are buzzing around my head Vultures circling the dead Picking up every last crumb The big fish eat the little ones The big fish eat the little ones Not my problem give me some You can try the best you can If you try the best you can The best you can is good enough [x2] This one's optimistic This one went to market This one just came out of the swamp This one dropped a payload Fodder for the animals Living on an animal farm If you try the best you can If you try the best you can The best you can is good enough [x2] I'd really like to help you man I'd really like to help you man... Nervous messed up marionette Floating around on a prison ship If you try the best you can If you try the best you can The best you can is good enough If you try the best you can If you try the best you can Dinosaurs roaming the earth [x3] I love driving to this song, I love working to this song, and I especially love to sing this song.

I can only listen to KidA as a whole. Optimistic is a very cool part of it though, with the thumping drums

Not much can compare to the Kid A album, and thats what makes it so interesting, thats what makes it Kid A.. Perhaps then after its all said and done, people can "manipulate" and "copy" it.. but there will only be One Kid A. A True Masterpiece

True. There's nothing out there like it.
I hear a lot of people cite their favorite Radiohead album as 'The Bends'. This is a great record, but my list has always been (in order): 1.Ok Computer (the first Radiohead album I ever bought, and the only one to move me deeply as a whole) 2.Kid A 3.The Bends 4.Amnesiac 5.Pablo Honey I have to listen to 'Hail To The Thief' a few more times before I figure out where it fits in.

I disagree Kid A is the only Radiohead record that sounds like a carbon copy of another group...Aphex Twin All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

It's just my least favorite of 5 masterpieces

I disagree Kid A is the only Radiohead record that sounds like a carbon copy of another group...Aphex Twin I dont think thats true, and I listen to Aphex Twin.. I just think its one of those brillant moves by Thom and he just came up with it and never went back, and thats how it should be.. Radiohead isnt sucking Kid A's dick, its the fans thats are doing that, and suprisingly the critics they love it and its probably one of the most daring moves they've made since it was more abstract than the rest, and pretty inspriring to a whole entire generation of electronic scene, especially pertaining the "war" of electronics that are goin on in NYC. Amnesiac may be leftovers from that amazing document of sound, but it sure as hell turned me upside down.. This album is equally amazing as kid a, melody wise.
