Their dub remix of "Turn to Red" is just sublime! dancing jig headbang

And then they did that song about the 80's which was pretty cool. smile

Love 'em... though some songs you will tend to skip. I'm thinking of some track on "Pandemonium". Noise more or less - sounds like someone's coughing, gagging and pukeing at the same time. Essential for afternoon tea time with your auntie.

The 80's song NWF's thinking of is most probably "Love Like Blood", "Eighties" or "Kings And Queens". You can find all of them on the "Night Time" album. This CD is an absolute must.

Personally, I also pretty much enjoy "Pandemonium" (well, apart from mentioned track...) and their new 2003 album ("Killing Joke", yellow-ish cover with a red head on it).

Btw, ever listened to The Damage Manual? They didn't rlease much but it's worth the money. Members: Geordie Walker (Killing Joke), Jah Wobble (PIL), Martin Atkins (PIL, Pigface), Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks).

Know 'em. Used to be a big fan of theirs in the early to mid eighties, but I gave up on them after Night Time.

Highly recommended listening for anyone who is reading this post and doesn't know their stuff, but would like to find out more:

"Laugh? I Almost Bought One" - a faultless compilation.

Jaz & Youth are long-time friends of mine. I remember Jaz playing me the demo 2 'Loose Cannon' after we went 2 see NIN at Brixton Academy one pissed-up nite back in '98 too!

Look out 4 the new live DVD in the spring...

One of the best live bands I have ever seen and a band with a truely varied back catalogue.

What has happened to 'Big' Paul Ferguson? He was such a shit hot drummer. The last I heard was that he was in The Orb but I only saw his name credited on the odd track.

Big Paul is now an artist/animator - quite succesful, and happy doing what he's doing. He doesnt really have any interest anymore in playing - the guys nearly managed 2 tempt him in2 playing on the new album, but he bailed at the last minute, and didnt show. (££$$£$$££$$) shhh
Ive still got the orignal sketch he did 4 the laughing jester somewhere...(not 2 mention the original hand-written lyrics 2 Turn To Red etc etc etc...)
tease

Paul was in the awesome (yet criminally underrated) Warrior Soul in the very early nineties - let me know if ya want me 2 burn ya a copy of this (now deleted) album Daned, and Ill bring it and whatever else u may need 2 the org meet in Manx...

As 4 The Orb, it was actually Youth who was involved with them - He wrote a number of trax, and produced and remixed a couple 2.

IN FACT - THIS REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING!!! In 1998, I gave Youth a ring 2 let Him know I was coming down from Newcastle (where I was at college at the time on an Audio Tech course) 2 see Prince at Brixton Academy, and did he wanna tag along? He said he'd never seen him, but would love 2. So we went, and he had seats with the missus, and me and my friend were downstairs where the party was at.

Afterwards, he was all:
'man, that was the fucking best show ive seen in the longest time!!!
He totally loved it, and called him a 'great showman'. I was well bloody chuffed! lol thumbs up!

Ill let ya in2 a secret 2 - three different drummers laid down entire drum trax 4 that album:

Chris Vrenna - (Nine Inch Nails/Tweaker)

John Dolmayan - (System of A Down)

*Dave Grohl - (Nirvana/Foo Fighters/Probot etc etc...)

and of course, Dave made the cut - but heard some of the other stuff, and it was real special. However, unlike a number of their albums, I reckon this one wont date quite so quickly. It takes a little work, but once it grabs ya, it dont let go. I hope that's the case anyway, as according 2 Jaz, it could very well be their last.

Was quite shocked when I heard 'Inferno' as Ive NEVER heard Jaz quite bare his soul as he does on that track - there's a whole heap of personal shit I knew about, but was stunned 2 hear him sing about...
