Sure, why not? They've successfully ressurected that arty, post-punk sound. But while Interpol is forever indebted to Joy Division, The Stills are probably more indebted to The Smiths, Cure, and Echo & the Bunnymen. They still sound good though. wink

Sure, why not? They've successfully ressurected that arty, post-punk sound. But while Interpol is forever indebted to Joy Division, The Stills are probably more indebted to The Smiths, Cure, and Echo & the Bunnymen. They still sound good though. wink

i thought the same thing when i first heard them (the stills). and that's all good with me. i've given up on finding "original" sounds, ya know? it gets kind of hard. and when someone is original, like sigur ros, they get labeled pretentious. go figure...

Yeah. Too much music out there, I think. Indie rock just opened up the floodgates. But this is a cool band though.

Interpol may be influenced by Joy Division. Who isn't really? But they sure as hell don't sound like a Joy Division rip-off
