The new Amp Fiddler album drops...

Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly, the new album by Detroit's Amp Fiddler has finally been released on Genuine Records.

Supporting cast members on the album include George Clinton and J Dilla (Jay Dee) who also worked on Common's track, 'Star *69 (PS With Love)' along with some guy named Prince.

As of now, it is only available as a limited edition double LP packaged in a beautiful gatefold. The CD is soon to follow.

He's got this single "You Give Me Vibes," that I just ordered from overseas. It's pretty cool. Thanks for the info.

It doesn't seem there are a lot of Nu Jazz/ambient fans on the org. Not a peep from our bredren and sistren.

The album's not out in the UK until the Monday 26th January.

Here's what they're saying:-

'He's been likened to D'Angelo, Stevie and the like, but for me, this guy is the real deal. Absolutely superb.' - BLUES & SOUL

'Serious soul to melt your body in' - STRAIGHT NO CHASER

'Whipping up the kind of frenzied devotion hitherto only enjoyed by Underground Resistance and sometime label mate Kenny Dixon Jr...This is the best that modern soul has to offer.' JOCKEY SLUT

'Amp Fiddler is gonna blow your head, speakers and, erm, amps this year. Superb.' - Leftfield Top Tune IDJ

'The hottest shit this month must be from Detroit's Amp Fiddler... Trust me people, this is essential listening!' - HIP HOP CONNECTION

'The sound of the future.' UNDERCOVER

'OK, I'll put it simple. If you haven't got this record go and get it NOW...has that weird thing of sounding totally new and fresh but at the same time, old and comfortable. I'm counting the days till his album is out. Join me!' KEEP ON

I've managed to get my mitts on the album and it does not dissapoint, it is the real deal!

False alarm. The promo I got was a finished copy with no spooky voice talking over the top of the motherfunker. I guese it must have been the proper journalists who got the schizophrenic mix of the album a few months ago. I guese you can send stuff later to us internet journalists as, well, there's not really any deadlines in cyberspace!

He's coming over to the UK again too! Good job 'cause I was skint last time.

Manchester Roadhouse Sunday 29th February - NICE

Oh, and anyone wanting to go to the Sheffield date, it's a mix-up! It is on but there's no such venue as 'Sub Rosa'. 'Sub Rosa' is a club night at Sheffield City Hall but due to 'Sub Rosa' moving to a different date, he is now appearing at 'Scuba' a club night at Sheffield's Fez Club on Saturday 14th February, apparently. I don't know what that means for the Bristol date but there you go. That's what I learnt today.

Now, that's an endorsement! They should put that on a sticker on the album cover. I'm with Agreeable, I think. If anyone manages to make a better album this year then, well, great! Otherwise, this will do nicely.

Anyone who likes D'Angelo, Musiq Soulchild or any smooth, deep r 'n' b should check this as it blows all of them out of the water. He's the man!

Come on, you Motherfuckers! Outkast had the album of 2003. Amp Fiddler probably has won 2004. Make sure you have your pennies ready!
