Not 2 long ago, Brandy was the young diva topping the charts, then she disappeared off the face of the earth and we haven't heard from her in a while. In the meanwhile Beyounce took over, Beyonce's been having more succes then some top diva's who's been in the business 4 more the 20 yrs, but my question is if Brandy came out fur real this time and was seriously into the music, who you think would win this battle? If brandy came out, I wish the media would me them compete against each other like they do with Christina Aguelira and Britney Spears, that would be so cool.

i've always liked brandy. i think her music is alright. especially the first two albums. she looks pretty hot too imo. why should she compete with beyonce though? i don't get these "... vs ..." threads all the time.

The reason I say this is because, although Beyonce can sing, there hasn't been much vocal progression from her debut album with Destiny's Child up until Dangerously In Love. Whereas you can clearly hear how Brandy's voice has changed over the years and is not sqeaky or annyoning like it used to be. You can also tell where she studied a lot of vocal greats judging from her runs, ruffs and whatnot.

To sum it up, I love both singers, but would prefer Brandy.

I don't think that Brandy and Beyonce are in the same catogery but I really wouldn't know as I don't have any Brandy CDs (but I like most of her singles). I think Brandy is more contemperoary than Beyonce, who really attempts to do older sounding songs and showcase herself of as a diva while most of the things I've heard from Brandy seem to be very hip and poppy. I think over the long haul Brandy will stick around while Beyonce might burn out after a few more albums (whether they be her own or by Desnity's Child or a mix is yet to be determinded). I think the case with Beyonce is going to show that too much of any artist causes a backlash. She was just way to saturarated this year with singles like "Baby Boy" that no one wanted to hear. Everyone liked "Crazy In Love" and "Me, Myself and I" is a good slower jam but the uptempo "hip hop" songs on that album sucked and "Baby Boy" was just too much. On the other hand, Brandy's songs have also been overplayed but they aren't as jangling, annonying and just plain overwhelming as something like "Baby Boy". Brandy tends to have mix of 50 % uptempo/midtempo and 50% really soft sinlges and it works for her on radio. I just think that Beyonce won't last long as Brandy but I have no idea who is better. I like them both but hate some of their songs.

I like her, though. If she put out a greatest hits collection, I'd buy it.

I prefer Brandy's material. I find her songs more enjoyable.

I love Beyonce's voice, but I feel it has been showcased on sub-par songs. I don't like anything I have heard off her solo release.

With all respect to Monica, because that sister can sing quite well, too, Brandy can sneeze more musically than most of us could ever come close to singing. She's good, very good.

Even her debut CD -- which, combined with her well-deserved reputation for being a good entertainer -- showcased her abilities as a singer. Did she sound like a little girl singing pop songs and doing soulful runs? YES, BECAUSE SHE WAS.

The bulk of Brandy's success came when she was younger than Beyonce currently is, if I'm recalling ages correctly. But, Brandy has a great voice. It's matured well. And, provided that she takes care of it over time, it's going to continue to be something nice.

Bottom line: Two different singers, two different voices.
