OutKast Tops Final 2003 Album Chart

OutKast's double-disc "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" (Arista) returns to the pinnacle of The Billboard 200 reflecting in the final full sales week of 2003. The 4-1 rebound marks the third separate occasion the set has topped the chart. Sales rose 12% to 374,000 in the holiday week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, giving the set a 14-week sales total of 3.1 million.

Last week's No. 1, "The Diary of Alicia Keys" (J), slips one spot to No. 2, despite a small sales increase to 371,000 copies.

Toby Keith's "Shock'n Y'all" (DreamWorks) drops one to No. 3 on a 15% decrease to sales of 314,000 copies, while the 14th volume in the "NOW That's What I Call Music!" series (Universal/EMI/Zomba/Sony) slips 3-4, the result of a similar 15% drop to 302,000.

"The Very Best of Sheryl Crow" (A&M) climbs two spots to No. 5 despite a 4% sales decrease to 256,000 copies. Josh Groban's "Closer" (Warner Bros.) suffered a 21% drop to sales of 250,000 copies, but only slips one spot to No. 6. Hilary Duff's "Metamorphosis" (Buena Vista), is down one position to No. 7 on a 10% sales slip to 246,000.

No Doubt's "The Singles 1992-2003" (Interscope) rises one spot to No. 8 in spite of an 8% sales drop to 217,000 copies. Ruben Studdard's former No. 1, "Soulful" (J Records), drops one to No. 9 on a 14% decrease to 211,000 copies. At No. 10 is Britney Spears' "In the Zone" (Jive); steady sales of 205,000 copies pushed the title up three positions to bring it back into the top 10.

This week's top debut is Juvenile's "Juve the Great" (Cash Money) at No. 32. Other notable bows on the chart include the soundtrack to "You Got Served" (Epic, No. 34), David Banner's "MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water" (Universal, No. 77) and the Bravehearts' "Bravehearted" (Ill Will/Columbia, No. 82).
