He sang "beautiful day" by U2, and he had a really good voice of course, he obviously didn't win for his looks
One of the judges said he doesn't look like a "World Idol" but a "Middle earth idol" (ie a hobbit) not that I watched it or anything  | |

I'm not really feeling his voice, myself. I find that the only Idol winner who's done anything approaching interesting material is Kelly Clarkson. Her album wasn't strictly MOR love ballads. There were some different ideas on there. | |
