Plans to release a 30th anniversary edition of "Diamond Dogs" are in the works.

According to the new Mojo Bowie special, they're working on this.

Super yay! yay!

I wonder how much is unreleased from the scrapped "1984" project and Ziggy musical.

I'm sure some of it would make worthy inclusions on this set.

Here's to hoping they do one of these for all the albums up through 1980. Too bad they didn't start with Hunky Dory though. There are so many outtakes and demos from that period.

they damn well BETTA put out a super deluxe extended reissue of this sucker. i'm drooling in advance, and storing the drool in preparation for this beauty's release date, just in case i run into a drool depletion emergency situation. that's just how droolworthy this is.

Yes. I've recently discovered the utter genius of this album. I always liked many of the tracks, but now I "get it" as a whole. Sweet Thing totally blows me away each and every time. Big Brother and We Are The Dead aren't far behind.

Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing is one of the most sublime pieces of music ever ever ever, by anyone, Amen.

It can compete with any of his epic masterpieces - "Heroes", Station To Station, Teenage Wildlife, Aladdin Sane, any of 'em.

I really hope this DD Anniversary Edition will include some unreleased tracks...
IMO the Anniversary Edition of ZS and AS are lost occasions to put something really new on these release (as far as I know every track was already released... maybe difficult to find, but nothing more...).
I would like to see a DD 2-CD edition including tracks like ZION to name one... well, we will see!
By the way, DD is one of my top 3 favourite Bowie album, it's absolutely great and a unique experience when you listen to it from start to end.

Zion is a strange one. Isn't it also known as Aladdin Vein? I think they did a great job with the Ziggy discs. It seems they rounded up everything and put it on there. But the packaging still had a few kinks. With Aladdin they fixed the packaging but the inclusion of all those live tracks was a bit unnecessary. I'm sure there was plenty of studio material leftover. Does anyone know of any extra material from the Diamond Dogs era other than the following?

Dodo
Candidate demo
1984/Dodo medley
Diamond Dogs edit
Big Brother edit
Rebel Rebel single version

Following the trend of the other AE, it could be included also "Panic in Detroit" live from the tour (excluded from "David Live" and released only as a B-Side), but that's the only one track already released that came in my mind to add to your list. Anyway I hope for something more...

Yes. Me too. I hope there are more holdovers from the 1984 project, etc.

i don't care much about a DD reissue, but the fact that it's coming out is indeed good news, because hopefully that means the remainder of his 70's albums will get anniversary editions as well

How come? Don't you think it deserves one?

It wasn't one of mine until recently. I love the sound of it.

Definitely. That Sweet Thing and Big Brother are among his most accomplished compositions.
