I find that female singers come a dime a dozen. Its hard for them to attract my attention. There are very few men with great vocal skills. That's why when the good ones release albums I will be more willing to fork over the money. D'Angelo, Prince, Raphael, Aaron Hall, Brian McNight.I loved Stevie Ray Vaughn's Blues voice.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my Alica Keys, Kelis and others

I definitely feel the same way.

I'd have to do a serious tally, but I'm guessing more males. I think it's getting more female heavy though & will balance out soon...

I like a lot of instrumental jazz and that is such a male dominated field. U occasionally get a female pianist but I can hardly think of any female horn players (Candy Dulfer is the only one that springs 2 mind).
Wonder why that is confuse

More males than females, but Ella Fitzgerald, Sade, Me'shell Ndegeocello, Janet Jackson, Diana Krall, Fleming & John, Fleetwood Mac, Chaka Khan, Sheila E., Jill Jones, Amel Larrieux, Res, Sarah Vaughan and others are part of my collection

I have wayyy more music by men ,but I don't really care.I like bjork, res, ani, joni, amel, kelis, sara vaughn,fiona...I just really don't care anymore.I like cool music.

I used to think about that and how I could only relate to men's points of view, but that's not true anymore. Also,I think it's interesting hearing different viewpoints on life.
