***"Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward (1979)---yeah,it's a silly, cheesy song but charming nonetheless. And in 1979,it was one of the catchiest jams on the radio.
***"I Need A Freak" by Sexual Harrassment (1983)---became a huge underground club hit. These guys were unabashed Prince clones, but this song was kickin'. ***"Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck (1976)---irresistible pop gem from the mid-70s

Amii Stewart - Knock on Wood Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays and 3 more for free The Buggles - Video Killed the Radio Star Patrick Hernandez - Born to be Alive Anita Ward - Ring My Bell All of them from 1979: the year I started buying singles My, I feel old now Oy, how dare ya! The Boomtown Rats were not one hit wonders. You're forgetting about Mary of the 4th form, I never loved Eva Braun, Rat Trap, Looking after no. 1, Someone's looking at you, Joey's on the street again, Like clockwork, Banana Republic, Dave... Amii Stewart had another hit with Light my Fire. Buggles was Trevor Horn who's had hits under other guises (Art of Noise is the only one that springs to mind). He also had hits as producer/collaborator with FGTH, Dollar, Simple Minds, Spandeau Ballet, Propaganda, ABC, Malcolm McLaren, Pet Shop Boys... the list is endless. Also, (from other posts) T'pau had hits with China in your hand, Bridge of Spies, Valentine, Sex Talk. You feel old? - Spare a thought for me, I feel old and very sad, I remember all this useless rubbish but I couldn't tell you what I did yesterday. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I didn't know they had any solo hits. I liked the song they did with Samantha Fox, but was there single, called "All I Wanna Do". And right now my favorite one hit wonder is Cheri's "Murphy's Law" along with D-Train "You're the One For Me", which are both on this great Billboard collection of big dance hits from 1982. I have one from 1983 as well that has a bunch of bigger hits by bigger artists like Donna Summer's "She Works Hard..." and Shannon's "Let the Music Play" but the 1982 one is more fun. And Trevor Horn did a lot of work on Cher's "It's A Man's World" album and also still works with Seal, prehaps his biggest success story considering the amount of albums.

Right. Full Force was one of the best teams in the eighties (they had a few boy band hits in the late ninties too, but seem to be gone again) They had a bunch of good tracks with Sam, including those big hits of hers but "All I Wanna Do" was there single and she was featured on it. Does anyone know this one? I downloaded it. Wonder if it was a hit or not.
