Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian has covered "When Doves Cry" for his debut CD (Which was released today). Guy performed this song during the contest.

I imagined he would have had trouble getting a clearance on this seeing Prince was critical of the Australian Idol contest during his tour in October. Guy went and saw Prince on the second Sydney concert (25/10/03) and is a big fan.

To add to this, Guy is now managed by Caplice Management (Sydney from Prince Org), who is a massive Prince fan also!

Guy will appear also at the "World Idol" contest representing Australia (doing Lois Armstrong cover "What A Wonderful World"), so check out Guy cuz he and his manager dig Prince!

Ahh, Guy. I remember way back in 2001, when stationary Pilot Pen company had a "Song contest" for up-and-coming talents of Australia, and among the contestants was a young Guy Sebastian. I downloaded his song from the Pilot website and I saw real talent in the guy, voted for him multiple times. I think he lost in the end.

So I discovered Guy way before Idol.

Damn! A 'World Idol'? I'm so not ready for that. Is that anything like Hitler?

i love the WDC cover...its a typical popstars/aussie idol-ish pop/rnb album.
a couple of GREAT songs...the rest is enuf 2 keep the teenyboppers happy.
