Ozzy Osbourne Hurt in ATV Accident

What I want to know is, who let this fool on an ATV lol. Any way, here's the story.

By LYNN ELBER, AP Television Writer

LOS ANGELES - Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured Monday in an accident on the grounds of his estate in England and underwent emergency surgery, a spokeswoman said.

The 55-year-old rock star was riding a "quad bike," or all-terrain vehicle, on his Buckinghamshire property when the accident occurred, according to publicist Cindy Guagenti.

His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, she said.

An examination showed Osbourne broke his collarbone, six ribs and a vertebra in his neck, according to Guagenti. He was in surgery Monday evening at an undisclosed English hospital.

The operation was intended to lift the collarbone, which was believed to be resting on a major artery and interrupting blood flow to his arm. Surgeons also were trying to stem "some bleeding into his lungs," Guagenti said.

Osbourne was taking a day off from promoting the United Kingdom release of "Changes," a duet with his daughter, Kelly, when the accident occurred.

Guagenti's office said no further information was immediately available.

"The Osbournes," the MTV reality show featuring the rocker, wife Sharon and their children, started production about a month ago on its third season, scheduled to begin Jan. 13.

It was not immediately known how the accident would affect production or how or whether it might be included in the series, an MTV spokeswoman said Monday.

On Saturday, a story on the Los Angeles Times Web site reported Osbourne's claim that he was overprescribed a variety of powerful anti-psychotic and tranquilizing drugs by a Beverly Hills doctor.

Osbourne said he developed a 42-pill per day habit that accounted for his odd behavior on the hit MTV show, including scenes in which Osbourne was seen mumbling, falling and appearing disoriented.

Last month, Osbourne told a British newspaper he'd been sexually molested as a child and suffered emotional effects from the abuse long into adulthood.

Anxiety

I loves me some Ozzy, really I do, but I'm tired of reading all these triflin' stories about him all the time. I'm not saying it's his fault or the fault of the person who posted this thread or anyone's fault but the Osbourne family publicist (Sharon??), but I much preferred Oz back when you only heard his name uttered once in a while, and it always made people headbang and do the horns sign with their hands.

Truthfully I could give a damn about him musically. If you want to call that shit music. To me he's just a train wreck I have a hard time taking my eyes off of. I just can't believe they would let that dude on something as dangerous as an ATV. Hell he shouldn't be operating anything that has a moter.

I for one have been a fan of the Prince of Darkness since childhood. I think he has a nice voice, depending on the songs of course. For instance in Mr Crowly or The Road to Nowhere Leads to Me. I don't idolize the guy but wish him well. He has many accomplishments to be proud of and of course, he chose to live his life with many mistakes and sad choice which he is paying for now in his golden age.

I totally agree with ya. Ozzy has been an incredible influence on rock music. I've always dugged his lyrics and he always seems to find some of the wickedest guitar players! TO be honest I haven't heard much by him since the "Ultimate Sin" I know that's not his greatest work, but shit after "Blizzard of Oz", "Diary of a Madman" & a seven year career with Black Sabbath, what more do you need to prove?

As far as his character goes, I was kinda disappointed when I seen the true Ozzy, but I can understand and am amazed that after all of his struggles with various substances he's still able to pull it off at his age.

It is sad to see him constantly being dissed and made fun of, even P took a jab at him. lol

I think it's hilarious that he's using the excuse of being over medicated as the reason for his behaviour. Come on Oz, you know you asked for all of that shit! Besides, Oz has been that way for quite sometime.
