She did get two grammy nominations this year - just not in a big category.

Prior to 1998 the only Grammy she'd won (or been nominated for) was Best Video-Long Form, The Immacualate Collection (1992). That's why, when Ray of Light was recognized, it was a bit of a shock. I still think it should have won Album Of The Year. It still annoys me that Like A Prayer wasn't recognized in any categories. That song should have taken Record Of The Year, easy. But it was the conservative '80s and if I'm not mistaken they gave it to Don't Worry Be Happy.

she was nominated for best new artist in 84 along with cyndi lauper and the judds. then, after all of her success they refused to add to it with recognition. i can't believe live to tell never got anything let alone the like a prayer album. also, take a bow was perfect.

I know that one of the nominations is for "Die Another Day" and that's in the Dance Music category. What was the other nomination for?

isn't that a shame? The 'Like A Prayer' album was one of the best, most creative albums of 1989.The title track alone should have been a Song Of The Year nominee,as Voices Carry suggested. [This message was edited Fri Dec 5 2:21:26 PST 2003 by DavidEye]
