From Justin To Kelly To Dropped From His Label! Even though I thought he was a talentless twit... I still feel a little bad for him.
--- --- --- --- --- --- Guarini Reportedly Dropped by RCA Tue Dec 2, 2:06 PM ET Add Entertainment - Reuters to My Yahoo! By Carla Hay NEW YORK (Billboard) - Justin Guarini, the second-place finalist for the first season of "American Idol," has reportedly been dropped by RCA. Reuters Photo The label, which no longer lists him on its Web site, declined comment. Guarini's eponymous debut album has sold 134,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. By contrast, the debut from first-season "Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson (news), "Thankful," has sold 1.7 million copies. Second-season finalist Clay Aiken's "Measure of a Man" has sold 1.3 million copies since its release in October. US Weekly quoted "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell as saying, "He's been dropped. It happens sometimes." Guarini did not appear on last week's Fox "An American Idol Christmas" TV special, although he was initially announced as one of the performers. 19 Entertainment, which signed Guarini to a management deal after his appearance on "Idol," did not return calls. Guarini's record-label woes aren't the only problem facing the singer. As previously reported, on Nov. 7 he was sued for more than $100,000 by a Pennsylvania couple claiming injuries from a rear-end auto collision that Guarini was involved in last year. "American Idol's" third season premieres Jan. 20, 2004. According to published reports, music producer Pete Waterman, a judge on the U.K.'s "Pop Idol," is in discussions to join the show as a fourth judge alongside current "American Idol" judges Paula Abdul (news), Randy Jackson and Cowell. Reuters/Billboard --- --- --- --- --- --- If there is a God, let Clay Aiken and Reuben Studdard be next... |

Sideshow Bob.. sucked! But.. I bet someother crappy minor/major label will pick him up & he will bomb there too..
this guy will keep going from label to label.. but just lower & lower.. because there will always be some moron record company owner will think he can squeeze that "american idol" hype one more time. eventually he will be back to what he was doing before he was "discovered"... singing telegrams  [This message was edited Tue Dec 2 23:36:57 PST 2003 by locoarts] | |

OK I was working in a music store this summer when Justin's and Kelly's albums were both released.
Justin's production and performance was stale, stiff, and just plain corny. Kelly's album has better production and way more edge, vocally and musically. Way more dynamic. Clay on the other hand.. I can't believe he's sold that much(??) but I only heard 1 song. | |

I've never heard his album, but I think Justin is really cute. I met him at the hospital I work at; he was visiting a 12 year old cancer patient that loved him on American Idol. He was really, really sweet and down-to-earth. | |

Talk about crashing and burning before you even had a chance! I don't think that the record company pushed the album at all (I never saw a video or a single) so I kind of feel bad for him but you don't see me running out to buy the CD.
And the fact that he isn't even listed on the website is brutal. Record companies keep artists on their websites that have been dropped or left years ago. | |
