DAVID BOWIE is to release a special edition box set of his 1993 album 'BLACK TIE WHITE NOISE'.

The album, written as a present for his wife and in response to the LA riots of 1992, was regarded by many as a return to form. It also features the star's cover of Morrissey's I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday – a version that Morrissey himself rates highly.

'BTWN' is produced by Nile Rodgers, and features Spiders From Mars guitarist Mick Ronson, back for the first time since the Ziggy Stardust days. Ronson died from cancer shortly after the album's release.

The three CDs include the original 12-track album, rare and unreleased tracks and mixes, plus a DVD of the 'BTWN' home video.

The 'Black Tie White Noise' box is out on EMI on August 4.

This has been available for a while, at least as an import. Of course, the DVD is useless to me because it's not playable on US DVD players, and I don't have a DVD player on my PC. Which of course means when it comes out domestically, I'll have to buy the damn thing AGAIN, grrr...
