AaronUniversal, the Janet bashing is really getting old. Funny you dislike her so much, because the majority of your posts that I've seen of yours seem to be about her.

actually, i wasn't bashing her here. i was using her as an example of artists who don't produce themsleves.

you might be surprised to know that i'm a big Janet fan. however, i'm a realist about the artists i like and her fans irritate me ever so much, so i like punching their buttons. i know all the right ones too, after being thrown off that "missjanet" mailing list so many times wink

I like the kid...I think he's talented.
I saw some of his concert special last night. He was
soulful, funny, and he actually played an acoustic
guitar. shocked He looked like he was having a great
time on-stage. It was nice to see all that choreography
out-the-window, just some good old-fashioned blue-eyed
soul.

Agree! He shows appreciation for the old school and more seasoned artists. On his special he seemed a lot more humble than he is on the award shows. But he does have a good voice and is interesting to watch.

I cannot stand him! If I want to hear a lame, white Michael Jackson, I'll throw in Invincible. His stuff is all derivitive, down to his dance moves. IMHO, he hasn't got anything real to offer. He's just another crappy pop singer. Can't wait until his 15 minutes is up (which will be right around the time all the little girls grow up, and the gay guys get bored with him).

Justin Timberlake is a Diet Usher (and I'm stretching because I dislike Usher's music and media personality). Justin's very cocky, Michael obsessed (MJ/Janet-obsessed, like many other rising twenty-something pop stars). I felt a few of his singles like "Cry Me A River" and "Rock Your Body," but they both played out once radio beat them to a pulp. Wouldn't be feeling his material if 'tweren't for the Timbo, Neptunes production. Haven't bought any of his solo records and don't plan on it.

Same here. Let him produce his own shit...yeah whateva. If anyone of them from the Backstreet Boys released the same from Neptunes & Timbaland productions...same songs and everything..same thing wouldve happened.

people r just enjoying his fad goin on right now...Jordan Knight had his time, but he never went solo back then that is...even more vocally talented than Justin in my opinion.

Well we all know he's gonna call the same people 4 the next album, so aint no use of cryin.

Let him produce his own shit???
What about all the other artists who use other producers.
If it weren't for singers like Justin, where would all of the non singing producers be? What the hell is wrong with using other producers for your songs? Absolutely nothing, say it again!

same 4 every1 else then. U arent a tru artist until u produced ur own shit.

you are kidding, aren't you? if you're not, that's ridiculous, especially since you've got Janet, the Beatles, and Mariah Carey listed as some of your favorite "artists"

well, 4 one 4 ur in4mation..The Beatles are tru artsts, i think any1 would agree 2 that that they have defined a new generaton of other far out artists and experimentation, in the same time making catchy music.

2nd of all , HOW DARE u even COMPARE Janet and Mariah 2 Justin!!!??? Shows wha u know, SHAME!

3rd of all, Mariah has written and co-produced EVERY one of her songs since she has came out.

4th of all, Janet has co-produced and co-written EVERY single song that she has put out since Control, defined new standards for video and dance, even Justin had 2 have her in his album.

So take ur lil' drag wig off and quit ridin Justin's balls and accept the fact that he has only one album out. Damn.

Justin Timberlake is very overrated in my opinion. I think his duet with Brian McKnight, 'My Kind Of Girl' is very good tho.

In the UK he seems 2 b in every magazine, newspaper, constantly on the music channels but apart from him thinking he can 'beatbox' disbelief and that he can dance like MJ disbelief, which he can't then I like about 1 song which is 'Senorita' with The Neptunes.

And he can thank MJ for 'Senorita' because MJ declined the stuff that is now Ts 'Justified'.

What's wrong with having Michael Jackson as influence music-wise? Up til Up The Wall and Thriller, Michael Jackson made music that was great and inspired and the albums after that were hyped but had brilliant stuff on it.

Then Justin Timberlake comes along and people just judge him on being in the MM club, being Britney Spears' bf and having been in THAT boyband.

What a crap. Listen Without Prejudice part 2...

:HMM: I know that's hard.

Justified is fun, produced tightly and it grooves from beginning til end. Indeed, there MJ squeaks every now and then, but not as persistent as MJ's own squeakin'.

His vocals are soulful and his voice is not 'special', but by all means not bad. He's got a great voice and the boomboxin in Rock Your Body proves he is willing to step out of the frame and be daring, using old and new influences. How much is the Neptunes' and how much is his influence does not matter; the product he delivers is carefree and funky. I listen to the album all the time.

Actually u may b a new user and havent seen the post where Justin was asked by some corny people who dont know anything about urban culture," Where did you come up with that thing you do with your mouth?" and he replied, "It's just something I came up with along the way". That set me off.
The person said that they used to like him until he claimed that he made that up and was not giving credit to its originators. And me being pro-Black (not racist) i jus wasnt havin it either. Eventually the thread was locked i thinnk because it got out of control.

Britney is another one...Lil' Kim said that Britney totally ignored her on several occasions and refused to speak or shake her hand...that bitch, but i still like her music.

U arent a tru artist until u produced ur own shit.

you are kidding, aren't you? if you're not, that's ridiculous, especially since you've got Janet, the Beatles, and Mariah Carey listed as some of your favorite "artists"

well, 4 one 4 ur in4mation..The Beatles are tru artsts, i think any1 would agree 2 that that they have defined a new generaton of other far out artists and experimentation, in the same time making catchy music.

but according to you, they aren't, because they didn't produce their own stuff

2nd of all , HOW DARE u even COMPARE Janet and Mariah 2 Justin!!!??? Shows wha u know, SHAME!

only in the context of needint to work with producers

3rd of all, Mariah has written and co-produced EVERY one of her songs since she has came out.

uh huh rolleyes

4th of all, Janet has co-produced and co-written EVERY single song that she has put out since Control, defined new standards for video and dance, even Justin had 2 have her in his album.

uh huh rolleyes

So take ur lil' drag wig off and quit ridin Justin's balls and accept the fact that he has only one album out. Damn.

you're completely off of your own topic here. all i said was that someone isn't only a true artist if they produce their own stuff. the 3 i listed work with producers the same way justin does. get over it...

Well...shows what you know. Justin wrote and co-produced on his album as well. And I know that he's cabable of much more. This is his first album and he's got plenty of time to develop.

well after claiming the fact that he "came up with the beat boxin" method as quote , "something i just came up with" while givin no big up's 2 anyone who's ever done it b4 (like the master Biz Markie) with his snoddy ass i guess eye fell outta favour 4 him.

And now that eye know that he did co do his stuff with other people, i wanna c how long it's gonna last now. Yeah eye'll probably hum his next couple o hit because he has my favorite prducers makin the his 4 him.

i think you realize you have no point, which is why you're all over the map in stating the reasons you don't like him. someone handily disputes one point, and you go off on some other tangent. give it up... you don't like him, we get it. no need to embarrass yourself trying to come up with some valid reasons

Britney is another one...Lil' Kim said that Britney totally ignored her on several occasions and refused to speak or shake her hand...that bitch, but i still like her music.

it's over johnny...

You asked for it: my thoughts...

Justin Timberlake is a Diet Usher (and I'm stretching because I dislike Usher's music and media personality). Justin's very cocky, Michael obsessed (MJ/Janet-obsessed, like many other rising twenty-something pop stars). PrimordialOoze

I don't like his music at all (too contrived and derivitive. oh and boring) but my opinion of him was changed after his recent guest hosting of SNL.

He has some real comedic talent. I think he should quit music and join the cast of SNL!! biggrin

I think its Furrel or whatever his name is that does all of the work on his music. Kind of like how Prince did all the work on Vanity 6 and Appolonia and all of that stuff.
