Man this is first and last time I take a recommendation from anyone on the org about what new music I should listen to.
I read thread after thread about how great this guy was supposed to be so I thought I would check it out.

I saw this music video from Andre 3000, and everyone is wearing these green clothes and doing the dumbest dances ever and man it was truly the most retarded thing I ever saw.

Not to mention that the song is absolute shit.

Then I saw them on the AMA's last night and it was even dumber than the music video.

Man get a brain.

Is this guy a joke ? I don't know anyone who could watch this guy and his dumbass dancers and not laugh their heads off.

Andre3000's "the Love Below" is some of the BEST music released this year!

I've just seen Hey Ya and I think it's great. It's obviously tongue-in-cheek. Isn't it?

It reminds me of Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite.

Hey Ya is kinda funky tho...I like it.

If you didn't like hey Ya! there's plenty of other great songs on the CD. It's certainly some of the best that I've heard in a while. If you still don't like it, try Outkast, it's the same guy and his friend Big Boi.

umm...so you're just going by ONE song, right?
His whole album doesn't sound like "hey ya", I'd advise you to listen to clips from the album somewhere on the internet(they're not that to find) before you just completely dismiss it.

pretty refreshing i think in this time of seriou lack luster in music.

I have only heard "hey ya" and his voice sounds pretty average. How is it on the other songs?

as the lead single which represents the album, this is pathetic, the lead single should be the best song on the album to try and sell it, not a joke song


On the strength of this garbage song alone, I dont think many people will be rushing to spend $18 on the album

His voice is definitely average. There's a song called "She's Alive" that exposes it even more, because it's a ballad. But in general, for me it doesn't overshadow the best parts of the album. Dre's falsetto is a notch above Pharrell's...and if you've ever listened to Pharrell's singing you know that's not a bragging point.

Actually those 2 u mentioned were among my favourites on the album. The weak spots on the album are too numerous - wtf is with Favorite Things, Love In War and Vibrate? That said the album as a whole is still is miles better than most of the tripe selling now because it does have some standout tracks that sound fresh.
