Van Hagar getting back together

rumors are flying that Van Hagar will be getting back together and making an album for next year.

bummer.

Why can't they just put up with Diamond Dave for one tour and give everybody what they really want?

The rumour I've been hearing forthe last coupleof year's is that Eddie's cancer is the end of his music career.

Man, I hate rumours but I love Van Halen.

For all of you crying "we want Dave", you obviously haven't seen him lately. If there was ever someone who needed to give it up, its "Diamond" Dave. He looks like a pathetic old man, desperatly trying to rekindle his glory days (oh wait, that's exactly what he is!!!)

For that matter, Van Halen isn't coming back. We all have to face facts that these guys are officially over. Besides, does anyone really want to hear crap like Van Halen 3? Because that is exactly what Eddie wants to do now.

Diamond Dave just had a Greatest Hits CD come out not too long ago with 2 new tracks on it and they are great!!! I think Dave still has it in him even if he is a little fruity. nutty

I'm sure the EVH you're talking abput can come up w/ better material than III. Aside from new material on his best of Diamond Dave released an album called DLR Band in 1998 and it rocks (download King of the Hill if you can). I was supposed to see Dave perform in London last Tuesday but he postponed til Feb, with no reason given. I think at least Bette Midler (or Sammy Hagar, as he's usually known) would turn up for gigs. Either way, I'm desperate to hear some new material from my namesake. Maybe he'll join Vai and Satch on the next G3 tour?

Actually I'm not; I never post on the Van Halen Newsgroup. I noticed the Bette Midler lookalike because he was described as such by the narrator from Top Ten Stadium Rock, a documentary on Channel 4 (UK TV) a few years back. VH were no.4 in the Top Ten of US bands (Aerosmith were no.1, somehow.) Alice Cooper presented the programme

Eddie is a pain in the ass. NO ONE can work with the guy? ..and has totally dropped off at a guitar player. He hasn't gone past what he could do 20 years ago.

crawling back to Sammy .. now thats a joke!

I think Eddie really has some mental problems.. or many ego problems.. he is a guitar player that wished he could sing and be the Lead Singer.

I couldn't agree more. He was so talented, but now he's just an egomaniacal asshole.

But...he never DOES play eruption anymore, and that's the problem.

Oh BS! I saw him play it on the VH-III tour.

Hey, stop laughing. No. Really. The tickets were free.

Stop laughing at me!

I got a free ride and they bought the beer too.

And everytime Gary Cherrone opened his mouth, I'd scream out "MORE THAN WORDS DUDE!" at the top of my lungs. It was a depressing 1/8th capacity outdoor venue.

lol

Okay, so he played it on the III tour (snicker), but he hasn't played jack shit since, and it ticks me off! Oh sure, he had cancer, but I thought he had a clean bill of health for that? If so, he needs to get off his ass, shut his mouth, and play some muthafuckin' rock and roll!

Seriously, you saw them on the III tour? (Snicker, snicker).

It was like watching the greatest Van Halen Tribute band in the world.

Depressing. Gery would do the kicks like Dave and sing like Dave AND Sammy, but it was just sad... you KNEW Al and Eddie were both thinking "just do the numbers, bitch. we got coin to collect".
