I love music, I could spend hours on it , i already do with making CD's or what not. that can be expensive to, but I don't mind, cuz it's what I want to do. I'm not cheap when it comes to the things i want . music edit [This message was edited Fri Nov 21 5:56:19 PST 2003 by DigitalLisa]

If it's just for a hobby I guess old and cheap equipment is the ticket. You'll probably find some second-hand decks in a flea market. All you'll need is a set of decks, some speakers, and some vinyl to spin.
Real DJ's do still use vinyl. You can't do what they do with cd's. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Maybe finess can help me out with this question ___ Its is a expensive hobby especialy if you want to spin vinyl. If you plan on using CD's reccommend the pioneer CDJ1000 cd players. They work similar to Turntables. On a seperate note does anyone know the name a a house song that samples "Black white puerto rican everybody just a freekin" from Dirty Mind. This record was out in the mid 90'S I want this record in a bad way!!! thanks david

My cousin taught me how to mix with his technics 1200's back in '83/'84 and i will always thank him for that because nothing else has ever lived up to it's standards for me anyway, i instantly fell in love with vinyl and then pestered my friends and family with tapes, i only now realise that that was a good way to decide which songs go together, then i started djing at friends parties which is a good place to start playing infront of people (your friends will be your best critics). Buying vinyl is only expensive if you're playing to a chart crowd meaning they'll only want the latest stuff they've heard on the radio or the latest number 1, basicly play the music you like and your collection won't be full of shit!. Being a club dj is much more fun, (not dissin radio, i've done both) the thrill and enjoyment is instant when there are hundreds of people in front you and nothing feels better than a good mix trust me you will remember all of them! It's only ever been a hobby to me but i've done a lot with djing and by the way yes cds are cute and small and digital and crystal clear and you can fit more in your 'record' bag but they are shit for rewinds!!!

I'd like 2 b a Radio DJ but I'd only play R&B/Soul/Funk and rap music, nothing else!. I couldn't play pop on commercial stations..no way!
I'd play Prince, Roger & Zapp, The Time, Stevie Wonder (his 70's albums ) and lots more too. Real music!
