I made a good one recently... Mostly funk/soul, with pallate cleansing pop and pop-rock for good measure.

I wanted to avoid stuff I had on CD, but stuff I still knew I loved, so I looked at the WNPG playlist, and used a lot of it. I through in quite a few of my own choices for good measure. FYI, there is some great mix stuff in that WNPG playlist! If you want to make a good mix, I highly reccomend you go there for reference if your mind is stuck.

Best part of this compilation is that the end of one song almost always seems to roll into the next one, because I made it so the end drums/bass/guitar were usually similar in sound or tone to the beginning of the next song. Either that, or I ensured there was a good pause before the next song. It worked pretty good.

Bobby Byrd - I Know You Got Soul
Earth Wind and Fire - Mighty Mighty
3 Dog Night - Play Something Sweet (Brickyard Blues)
Donny Hathaway - Someday We'll All Be Free
George Clinton - Atomic Dog
Electric Light Orchestra - Last Train to London
Prince - Guitar Solo from Days of Wild Xcerpt from Ahdio 1
Victor Wooten - Norwegian Wood
Prince - What Do U Want Me to Do
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
B.W. Stevenson - My Maria
Prince - Empty Room (live, C-Note)
Procol Harum - Beyond the Pale
Dr. John - Right Place, Wrong Time
Beatles - Michelle
The Time - The Walk
Chuck Brown - Bustin Loose
Terry Jacks - If You Go Away

Okay, I'll find the recent ones I've made.

I used to make mixed artists tapes all the time when I was younger, but have gotten out of the habit once I got into CD burning. They're always exclusive to 1 artist. I should give it a try again though.

McGee

Alright, here it goes...pretty wild mix of styles (reggae, funk, psychedelic folk, electro, hiphop, experimental) but I assure you it has a very nice flow and it contains some serious killer tracks. I think I'm going to open a thread about the opening song which for me is THE joint of 2003 - it's an epic reggae/dub/soul blend, very laid back, with gorgeous vocals.

1 Fat Freddys Drop - Hope
2 Bim Sherman - It Must Be A Dream
3 Dave & Ansel Collins - Double Barrel
4 Jackie Mittoo - Killer Diller
5 Fatback Band - Goin To See My Baby
6 Marva Whitney - It's My Thing
7 Chi-Lites - Stoned Out Of My Mind
8 The Brothers Johnson - I'll Be Good To You
9 Sylvia Striplin - You Can't Turn Me Away
10 Timmy Thomas - Why Can't We Live Together
11 Loka - Beginningless
12 Tim Buckley - Song To The Siren
13 Vashti Bunyan - I Want To Be Alone
14 Lamb - Please
15 Tied & Tickled Trio - Revolution
16 Common feat Pharell - I Got A Right Ta
17 Stranglers - Peaches
18 Jean Jaques Perry - E.V.A.
19 Rod Freeman / Joe Meek And The Blue Men - I Hear A New World
20 Frank Zappa - What Will This Evening Bring Me This Morning
21 Voices Of Walter Schumann - Holiday For Strings
