rolling stones top albums of all time

Rolling Stone's list of the top 10 greatest albums:
1. The Beatles, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
2. The Beach Boys, "Pet Sounds"
3. The Beatles, "Revolver"
4. Bob Dylan, "Highway 61 Revisited"
5. The Beatles, "Rubber Soul"
6. Marvin Gaye, "What's Going On"
7. The Rolling Stones, "Exile on Main Street"
8. The Clash, "London Calling"
9. Bob Dylan, "Blonde on Blonde"
10. The Beatles, "The Beatles (The White Album)"

the beatles dont need to be on there 4 times...

i didnt think Sgt Pepper was more interesting than Revolver, or even Magical Mystery Tour.

i du congragulate them on "What's Going On" though, a facinating album.

Im almost postitive this has been stated before. and yes, I can imagine a Prince fan site becoming unravelled because he isnt on it..

I dont think there should be THAT many beatle songs on it.. however, I believe Sgt. Pepper and The White Album (over everything else) should be on there.
There's a reason though Sgt pepper is on there.
Those two albums have its place in music, and its decent to see they have it on there.. but for the rest of that damn list.. I dont have a clue of the utter close minded nonsense.

Rolling Stone or the Beatles?

Nothing's wrong with the Beatles. They're great. But I think they should spread the wealth a little. I know they made a huge impact with all of their albums, but a lot of musical history has been made since they broke up.

Where's Ziggy Stardust? Sign "O" The Times?

As far as Rolling Stone, they've been a joke for ages now. Their reviews are totally skewed. Their covers are lame. They've gone the same way as MTV. No credibility whatsoever. No insight into music. Just a hype-making machine.

That's only the top ten, folks. Calm down. Prince has four in the top 500, they just haven't posted the rest of the list yet.

At least two of Stevie Wonders' 70s albums should have made that list!

I'm actually very happy that The Beatles and the Clash made the top 10. I am a bit upset because there's no Hendrix, Prince, The Specials, The Smiths, or The Pop Group.

Rolling Stone didn't choose the albums on this list. They were chosen by a panel of musicians, critics, music writers, etc... Supposedly a fairly large group of experts. And the list stays very closely to other "BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME" lists... the Beatles always have 3 or 4 in the top 10. Don't blame Rolling Stone because an album you like didn't end up in the Top 10.

That being said: I'm not a fan of Rolling Stone magazine. But I do think the list is pretty reasonable. I'll be interested to see the entire list.

Er, I meant those artists should be in the top 10, not in the lower echelons of the motherf:censored;
