MYA WO!

Well despite most of radio sleeping on MYA's GOLD album Moodring, and now approaching 1 milion sales thanks in part to MYA's club tour and tv appearances. She cant get radio play and gets very little Video Play, even at BET, guess there too busy playing BABY BOY by BEYONCE six times an hour. With the GRAMMY nominations coming very soon,MYA should be seeng something in the RB female category, MYA has and is respected in the GRAMMY world, so something should be coming her way. Despite all of the video and radio ignorance, this is her fastest selling CD, MYA is establishing a strong loyal fan base. Mya just goes out there and does it and doesnt get mixed up in all that hype that others like Beyonce and Ashanti etc.. have. So even though MYA hasnt BLOWN UP like others have, she is KNOWN and very well respected in the industry and now in the Movie industry too. As for MOODRING, if U havent heard it, go give it a shot, its got it all. And if U get a chance to see her live, GO!! MYA can DANCE and SING at the same time (see it can be done). Her third single from MOODRING will most likely be YOU followed by WHATEVER BITCH possibly or LATE.

I actually noticed radio picking up on "My Love Is Like Whoa" not to long ago but they fucked that up becuase the new single is already out. I have to admit, I'm kinding of sleeping on that album. It's already sold a million? I keep noticing that there are still "litmited edition" copies with the calendar all over music and department stores. Do you the actual amount is sold already?

Im not sure of the actual amount sold, I do know its between 650,000-750,000 range at thi time. As for still seeing the Limited Edition around, well I workin a music store here in NYC and we sold that out abouta month ago and we got 500 orignally and are still selling through the regular version, so I guess it depends on your area and how stores merchandise it, if its on sale, or if they give it play in the store, all of these things help out.

It's a really good CD actually. And a lot better than Beyonce's disc.

Her new song 'Fallen' I tripped out that she used The Pharcydes 'Runnin' ..I was waiting to see when people would start sampling that.

Indeed. It is a very very good album. Lots of songs on it too, which I like (18 I think?), 'cos I'm stingy and like value for money biggrin

It's a mostly good album. but there is a lot of filler, sappy stuff that really is not needed.

Better than Beyonces? Maybe JUST. Both have problems, they both start out really strong and then dwindle into filler...

One man's filler is another man's treasure. I bet the songs you think are "sappy" are probably my favorite tracks on the disc.

Mya's CD is really good. Solid. Lyrically, she get's a little repetitive on her subject matter, but It's a really good CD. She is getting slept on big time mediawise. I like "why You Gotta Look So Good". The track is funky! "Sophisticated Lady" was cool, too - even though it was a remake of Rick James's "Cold Blooded". "Late" was VERY different. That was lyrically something that set Mya apart from others to me. ONLY a woman would have written that and since Mya was the first I've heard to take that approach, I'll remember her for it when others copy the concept. The production is very good and she has a nice voice. Its a good disc.

Just to also Let u know, if U search your import shops which I do alot, The Australian edition of MOODRING has 3 bonus tracks bringing the CD total to 21 tracks. But im not really concerned with TRACK amounts, just as long as they are quality tracks I dont care if theres only 8. Im going to have to disagree with the "filler" idea, Out of all these tracks maybe 2 or 3 are just OK, and even those I tolerate and they dont ruin the CD. The best thing about this CD is the fact that the TRACKS vary, this is not just an RB album, which is the problem with most of RB today, they all work with ONE diensional producers and most dont even write, so everyone sounds the same. Also to let U know MYAs CD single for FALLEN has a remix with members of the PHARCYDE, its very cool. Maybe she will release the WO remix which is amazing, its a ROCK version.

21 tracks!

WOW! Now that is value for money!

I don't think there's much filler on Moodring, maybe one or two tracks I could do without.
