Yeah, but not for a while. I reckon as soon as the new album drops I'll be looking up every KB site on the net.

I love the MUSIC.

I think I watched The Red Shoes once.
And the live concert with that extra cd.

To be fair, I don't think Kate has made many truly great vids. Her real strengths lie within her music. Although the following are all either good or okay:

Wuthering Heights Something to do with the trails, man...stoned
Babooshka
Army Dreamers
Sat In Your Lap
Cloudbusting worship
Experiment IV
The Sensual World
Rubberband Girl
The Red Shoes

Latest news about Kate say that she finished the recording of her new album at Abbey Road by recording two songs with the London Metropolitan Orchestra on October 11.
Its official news on the website of this Orchestra.Lets hope she doesn´t need a few more years for mixing the new album.

See, I just don't agree with this statement at all. I'm a huge fan of both, but I don't think they really resemble each other at all. Definitely not physically, and, while they have similar voices, their music is radically different. Its obvious that Kate is a huge influence on Tori, but I see just as much influence from Zepplin and Joni Mitchell in her work. Just my opinion.

Man, I hope this is true! I mean, 13 friggin' years between albums is one helluva long break!

C'mon! You gotta have Running Up That Hill in there! That vid is so beautiful! The only one that rivals it is Cloudbusting (but you really don't get much better than that vid)!

I am so tired of people who just say they are alike cuz they use high voices.

They are entirely different people with a different approach to music.

The first time I heard Tori (Silent All These Years '92) Kate's influence was immediate and obvious. I bought Tori's Little Earthquakes simply because I wanted to see how much like Kate she was. I actually think Tori resembled Kate very much until From The Choirgirl Hotel which oddly enough is where Tori started to lose it a bit, imo. I liked Scarlet's Walk a bit better than her previous two but it's still a drag to sit through if I'm not in the right mood for it. As for Led Zeppelin, they're one of my favourite bands and I still never hear any of their stuff in Tori's work. shrug

That said, Boys For Pele is next on my list of things to do. love

See, I saw the Kate influence on LE and UTP, but I really think she went in a very different direction around BFP. Personally, I think Scarlet's Walk is her best album to date, but that's just my opinion.

Agreed about BFP. Tori really became a truly great artist at that point (I'm not trying to dismiss her earlier stuff, tho') and for me it remains her best album. But I still hear a lot of Kate in it. I like Scarlet's Walk very much. It took a while but often great albums do. It's perhaps lacking in diversity for me to listen to too often. But it is a very nice album.
