Do the violins make anybody else cry?

Whenever I hear them I want to cry. They always sound tragic, majestic, and triumphant at the same time. Fire and Ice. Satan's piss and Angels breath.

The violin touches something deep inside. Anyone else have this reaction?

Definitely. There's a particular pitch that a violin hits and gets a totally visceral reaction from me.

Yes. Especially Bjork's strings. No one can touch her.

the thing that a lot of people in an orchestra work together so precisely is what moves me.

one violin doesn't move me.

when Björk was in Amsterdam and the orchestra played the ouverture for DANCER IN THE DARK i started to cry right away.
yes SIR!

sigh

Strings are beautiful. Sometimes the simplest string part says so much. Beautiful, painful and powerful.

Damien Rice uses strings to a MAXIMUM heartbreak effect on his album "O." The song "Amie" will reduce you to rubble when the strings kick in...
