Ready for the world is....just f*!@cking awful!!!

I have had the unfortunate pleasure of being exposed to these Prince biting freaks once again by some fool at work telling somebody that they rolled with prince in 85. After punching that fool in his mouth for saying that shit I told him the truth about how all they did was bite the man's style. After that incident I thought to myself hell it's been a long time and you were younger, maybe they weren't that bad... So I downloaded o sheila, digital display and love you down...It's still awful!!! My God the whining!!! Melvin Reily kills Keith Sweat in the whinny nasal voice category. Digital display is decent but the rest is... my God...Who hear likes or can't tolerate that thieving ass group?

They were the most blatant Prince clones, ripping off the Mineapolis Sound of 1982-83.Their first two albums sound like outtakes from the '1999' album.Having said that,I must admit I liked many of their songs...

***"I'm The One Who Loves You" (1985)---the last song on their first album.Listen to that Prince-like drum machine.

***"Digital Display"(1985)---don't front,y'all know that this was the jam back then!

***"Ceramic Girl"(1985)

***"Baby (Let Me Love You)" (1986)

***"Mary Goes Round"(1986)---the lyrics are fun and VERY Princely

***"Some People Don't Care"(1986)---with more songs like this, they could have been something more than just second-rate Prince clones. This groove is FIERCE!

***"It's All A Game"(1986)---probably their best slow jam

***"Do You Get Enough"(1986)

I always liked "Let Me Love You Down". Not that it's a fantastic song, just cuz it brings back good memories from the 80s...

A dance version of Oh Sheila has just been released in the UK.

Works surprisingly well... but now sounds nothing like a P rip-off biggrin

Well it seems like I am the odd one out.
But I have no idea what you are on about.

Let me try and get this straight in my head.

You met some people who went around trying to eat Prince. One of them that you met said he was rolling in a airplane tyre down a hill with Prince. Because he told you this you were so jealous that you weren't also in the tyre with Prince, you punched this fool in the face. Since then you have come to realise that this all happened a long time ago and that you really should stop being jealous about it. So you download some songs (illegally from the internet) and then complain how bad they are.

Melvin reily (maybe one of your friends who was in the tyre?) kills Keith Sweat because he has a more whiny voice than he does. This is getting all rather strange I must say.

The you go on to call them a bunch of thieves who steal donkey's... Man what a world you must live in.

Airplane tyres, violence, murder, theft...

You are just weird.
Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

Tonight was the jam. I admit I liked some of their songs but they did sound like amateurs. That's okay though. I think some folks are taking it too seriously.

did you really punch that fool in the mouth? pathetic.

anyway, i never saw RFTW as prince biters. i saw them more as a time ripoff (yes, i know. but let's pretend for a moment that the time are a separate thang from prince).

loved their first album, liked about half of their second one. deal with it.

'Tonight', 'Deep Inside Your Love', and 'I'm The One Who Loves You' were the jams back in the day. Only 'Tonight' may still be listenable today.

I liked them when I was young and dumb. When I hear that crap now, it almost makes me blush.

I agree, that fake moaning on the "chorus" was annoying...

"Ohhh...oh...ohhh...ohhh...girl,Tonight" lol

as far as their slow jams go,I prefer "Slide Over" and "It's All A Game",but even those songs haven't aged well.
