It sound very Janet/Madonna early eighties her vocals even sound like Madonna in some it
This is one the songs on her demo she gave sony when she was looking for a deal

Certaintly better than the things she tried in "Glitter" (the movie, I never heard nor have the desire to hear the soundtrack). Pretty much sounds like everything else from the eighties. Good voice but only a few times does it really sound like her.

I think this is the best thing she's done but I'm not a fan. Release it as a single and I'll buy! Too bad she never embraced dance music like this.

And Brenda K. Star is singing along with her(the chic with the squicky voice). Which explains the Maddy/Janet connection lol!

Hmm, I was brushing my teeth listening to Glitter, and I must say, there is no need for me to post things like "Mariah hasn't grown at all" because she is a pop artist, and the genre of pop itself and the radio formats is something that doesn't change alot over time.

Just thinking of comparing "Candy" (Cameo 1986) to "Loverboy" (Mariah 2001) and how they are both from different eras and still function to represent those times, but how they are clearly formatted as pop singles.

What the frog am I going on about - I just don't want to slag Mariah.

It woulda been the bomb-diggity if they didn't rush this mofo but then again I'm glad these sessions weren't released in a flopped album becoz it would be unfair 4 all that hard work.

The thing I find funny is that her earlier albums are more mature sounding than the ones she's making now,

Glitter was her best album (Butterfly is also equal 1st)
I just loved the song Rick James wrote for her on the album "All My Life" this song should have been a single, it's just way too funky and sexy 4 words, YOU NEED TO GET THIS SONG
I loved her take on the 80's she could have gone down a different road with an 80's inspired album
She could have recorded a Whitney or Patti labelle style 80's album
but she went for sos' band, Cameo, Rick James and Cherylenne style songs
