Yay, Napster is Back!

I'm so glad they brought it back too. woot! dancing jig I'm going to download it tonight to see what songs I can find on there. I also have Morpheus and Kazaa on my computer as well. LOL - I just love getting free music! Let's hope these sites stay open forever and never close. It's great to download and share files with other music lovers like ourselves. biggrin
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Anxiety

I thought Napster was back as a pay-only music download service, not unlike iTunes...?

Really? Hmmm I just d/led a song and didn't have to pay for it. Maybe it's a free trial for like the first month until they get enough paying customers? confuse Not sure.

i have not checked it out yet, but i am guessing that you have to pay for the songs. its not file sharing necessarily. i am looking for an alternative to kazaa, however, because kazaa leaves a bunch of crap on your computer that you really have to be aggressive with cleaning up. all that spyware bs.

I just checked out Napster at the advice of a friend and I must say that I was pleased with what they offer.

If you simply download the application then you get a service that's very similar to iTunes, buymusic.com, MusicMatch, etc (30 second samples of songs available for .99 cents per track). However, where Napster sets themselves apart from the others is with their premium service. For $9.95 per month you get full access to their entire library of songs. You get full versions of songs which you can either stream or download to your computer. Of course you can't burn them to CD unless you purchase them. But what you get for the money is the ultimate home jukebox. I have been listening to literally dozens of albums in their entirety that I've been wanting to hear for awhile now. And the downloading speed, if you choose to do that, is amazing. Songs are literally downloaded in seconds.

For the time being, this seems to be the best thing out there.

The new Napster is a waste of time. Their selection is limited and you have to pay about 99 cents per song. Just stick to Kazaa.
