Just a quick post to give props to Nikka Costa. I have been listening to her album tonight along with TRC & Wildcard. It's just a cool album & that is that!

i've never understood the whole Nikka Costa thing.

but it seems like the majority of her fanbase comes from having seen her at Prince's Celebration, and i missed that one, so i guess i'll never get it.

Nikka Costa is OK in moderation, in my books.

Didn't see her at the celebration. Saw her in Detroit and she left me in a state of awe. Even brought a couple of friends who don't like funk, Prince or anything else, standing there with their jaw on the ground.

People who have any opinion without seeing the her live need to experience it.

I've seen her twice. Not related to any Prince association. My introduction was in LA for breast cancer fundraiser function. Her band was sooo awesome and tight. She's a lil dynamo on stage. The cd was good, but live just makes it all the more worth while. "Everybody's Got Their Something" is my song.

Nikka Costa is so damn good live...I had to be slapped and pinched to come out of the trance I was in...she is amazing. I love 'Everybody Got Their Something' so much...But it was after seeing her live that the music really came alive! She blows me away...If Prince and Janis Joplin had a kid...don't you think Nikka could've been it???

LIVE: Go see the streaming video at her site of her live in Amsterdam. THAT is what sold me on the girl.

Nikka is one of few recommendations taken from fellow Orgers that was good for me - I'm still mad @ folks for pumping that damn Alicia Keys
