Wow I didn't think I'd get such a good response on this thread. But it appears that I am not alone in enjoying the sounds of one of the finest pop bands to come out of the U.K. Lexicon of Love comes in at #2 on my top 10 favorite albums list. #2. Only Purple Rain can top that album. I remember listening to it back in the 10th grade in amazement. I've never heard such an album so perfect, so satisfying.
Their other stuff is cool, like Beauty Stab and How to Be A Millionaire. Martin Fry & Mark White had something very special I think that even other great New Wave bands didn't. Elegance, class, and style. But they stole most of that from Roxy Music anyway. But they manipulated nad exploited it so well. "Who broke my heart/You did, you did..." By the way, who here hasn't slept on their house/pop album, Abracadabra? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE. | |
